Bats was offside so shot won't count, claiming it does is clutching at straws. Just hope SP has seen enough and gets rid.

How bad has it got to, that we are trying to count a shot from an off side. May be time for a change of manager and a new mind set, on how to play the game. You can only win games by scoring goals. When we try to hold on to a 1 nil like today we are only one mistake away of a draw or a loss. We always seem to be making individual mistakes. Why are we trying to hold on to a 1 nil against teams like Brighton!!. If we want to stay up we need to be winning.

Agreed,if we play like this against one of the few mediocre sides in the Prem, one shot against their 20,it is time for a change in direction from the leader who came up with the idea to use Harry Kane to take corners for England.

Ain't posted for a bit, just tend to sit back and see what's going on, but watching today was embarrassing, and am of the opinion that Roy Hodgson has had his day, and it ended around 15 years ago, let's be honest how the hell can a 70 odd year old man change his ways now, so predictable and has been for ages now, does anyone really think he would have the same sort of tactical dynamic as a Klopp,Guardiola,or any of the rest of the premier League managers, all very well being a nice bloke and well respected but a 70s/80s mentality doesn't get results in today's football, before anyone accuses me of being ageist, Roy is 3 year's older than me, sorry Roy call it a day, you are well behind

we have some of the most exciting attacking players ever......Zaha, Batshuai, Ayew, Townsend, etc etc
spending the whole game inviting the opposition to have a go. Hoping that the shots will never get past Guaita. utter utter madness Our players are good. Roy has turned into a Dinosaur.

Roy is about 3 years older than me too and I can't change the way I take my tea let alone change the way I think about anything. Your ideas harden into stone as you get older... you don't get more flexible. I can't see him changing.

It breaks my heart to admit it but SP needs to ask Roy to step aside. When Graham Potter and his team of nobodies embarrass us at home (make no bones, we got thrashed 1-1), something has to change. My biggest fear is that IF Palace 'surviving' in the Prem is ALL that matters to SP and the board, Roy's track record is enough. Scarily, nothing else may matter to them.

Roy has done a very good job given the circumstances(we've spent a net £23m when the south coast mob have spent £106m in the same 5 windows) but the style of our play is sucking the joy out of the game. We can't keep going playing that way, matches are won by scoring goals not sitting on the edge of your own box and hoping for the break away. He isn't going to change, so maybe a fresh voice would help. Having said that I'm mindful of the "be careful of what you wish for"!

Yes I am concerned about post Roy- however it’s not as though it’s our first season in the PL, we have a decent squad. Why should we not think someone could do better? The tools are there, it would be a different matter if they weren’t. They won’t do anything with Roy unless results put our status at risk. Resigned to hoping for better things next season if and it’s a big if Roy moves on.

a friend recently reminded me of Charltons demise. All we're asking for is to give it a go, at least against the run of mill sides. Roy gave us 7 or so defeats in a row end of last season & what worries me is he'll put this run of defeats together again soon serving up the scrape together points dross he's doing now. Yesterdays match was like watching a league side containing a prem team in the cup.

I’d love to hear the instructions Roy have to the team to before that game to get an exact picture of how they were sent out to play. Is it all his fault or are players half to blame? In my opinion Roy doesn’t trust Mitchell at left back which is why we are basically sacrificing a winger and having 2 left backs. On the right side Ward has a serious lack of pace but Kouyate is able to move across and help him and if not Townsend is there. Roy seems so obsessed with protecting our full backs that he is creating havoc through out the rest of the team as we never have any players far enough up the pitch when we do get the ball. When we had PVA and AWB we played differently because Roy trusted that they had the pace to look after themselves. As soon as PVA is fully fit he will be straight back in at left back. He needs to get Eze into the roll Zaha played yesterday and get Zaha back onto the wing but this won’t happen while Mitchell is playing as Roy doesn’t trust him enough.
