I edge a bit toward Watkins. He's young and hungry to prove himself. Whilst Bats isn't exactly old, he hasn't really established himself and has floated along a bit for a couple of seasons.

He certainly has talent, but doesn't always seem to have that extra bit of drive to impose himself, or the work rate that will pay dividends. I always thought he was a bit of a show-boater and would sparkle when things are going well, but wasn't the sort of player you need when you have your backs to the wall.

Football is all about opinions - anybody can backtrack and join the right opinion, but Clinton Morrison has been onto the club for along time about Ollie Watkins.

Bats will be lucky to get to half of Watkins total of goals this season. End of

Does it matter? Whichever one would only ever be an unplayed substitute as Roy likes to stubbornly stick to the same 11 regardless of results.

That's surely a question that can only be answered at the end of the season. Batshuayi hasn't been given a chance yet to show what he can do and Watkins has had one good game against a goalkeeper who was suspect to say the least. I very much doubt he would have scored a hat trick if Allison had been playing.

Watkins for me . he runs with the ball and without it making positions for himself and can head the ball . none of which the batman can do

Batshuayi for me. Genuine international striker. Proven.

Watkins has had one decent game and was pretty much gifted a hattrick. I'm not going to wet myself over 1 game and he was pretty anonymous in the other 2.

If we actually play Batshuayi, I reckon he will outscore Watkins.

So far he has only done that in the Championship & in one freak game with 9 goals. He has also played in 2 other games without contributing either a goal or an assist. Neither the hatrick nor the two blanks proves anything at this stage and he probably will be decent but, as mentioned, he cost £28m. Batshuayi has far more established pedigree and has scored at about a goal every other game when he has played in the Prem, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga with a better ratio than that over 30 international games. For a player with sh1t movement and no heading ability, that’s not bad.

if he can score that many goals [ every other game ] why did Chelsea let him go on loan

Ultimately it doesn't matter who we would prefer, it's about who we could afford.

Watkins or Eze is a more relevant question as we couldn't fund both.

That's how I see it as well and from what I've seen of Eze, I think we made the right choice. He oozes class and potential. As for Batshuayi, he didn't get much of a look-in at Chelsea and as no. 4 in the pecking order, obviously needed to go out on loan. We'll probably get to see him in action after the international break, and come Christmas might be in a better position to judge how he's fared.

He played 746 minutes for Chelsea across all competitions last season scoring 8 goals, so basically a goal a game in terms of minutes on the pitch. The previous season (in the Premier League) he had a goal every 150 minutes for us.

He is a goal scorer. He gets in the right places if you get the ball in the box and though he might not be clinical he has a very good rate of goals per minutes on the pitch going back years. In his first season with Chelsea he had a goal every 47 minutes! His record over his career averages out at a goal every 150 minutes, which is pretty impressive given most of his career has been top flight football in France, Germany, Spain and England.

He is not going to offer much outside the 18-yard box, but if we play him regularly I think he'll hit double figures this season as he has the knack of being in the right place at the right time, something Zaha and Ayew perhaps are not quite so good at.

First perfect hatrick in premier in 25 years, in 35 mins, against the champions

But as somebody said - he wasn't going to come here once Villa stayed up, and the Bees stayed down
