I was ranking them, not applying a mathematical factor to their respective abilities. Cahill has had a fine career but is undoubtedly overrated by many Palace fans.

I’m afraid you appear to be the one that needs to look at their views on football if you seriously think that Cahill is 5 times less the player that Sakho is!

Sakho has been a fraction of the player for us since signing permanently and we’d do well to keep him out of the team, or even donate him to Lyon where he has been rumoured for.

An accident waiting to happen. Roy is mistaken in selecting him. Ok Dann and Cahill may not have been ready but for heavens sake Martin Kelly was available and never lets us down.. Time for Hodgson to take on Eddie Howe as assistant and quit by Christmas. And ditch Sakho!

Southampton away?

Been to Anfield twice seen 14 goals and my team haven't scored any

Sakho is our best ever centre back. If you can’t see that you don’t really get football. One mistake today that got cruelly punished. The pen doesn’t count as Ayew was fouled in the build-up. Sakho’s passing, strength and ability to read danger and snuff it out are superb and it is a joke how much hate he gets.
Palace’s CBs ranked in order:
1 Sakho
2 Tomkins
3 Kouyate
4 Dann
5 Cahill
6 Kelly

This must be a wind up.

Is our 5th best centre back the same one who win over 60 England caps and also a champions league medal?

Literally unbelievable

He is not dominant in the air. Zouma towered above him for the 2nd goal not for the 1st time today. In my opinion our best option would be Kouyate and Cahill

Not a chance is Sakho our best CB. He is well known for gifting at least one opportunity per game with a clumsy pass, clearance or extravagant turn. Today he was more generous than usual.

Simple fact if we had a fully fit squad then none of that back 4 would be starting.

Sakho's best performances were those when he was on loan to us.

Since signing permanently it's been a succession of injuries and errors interspersed with the odd top class performance.

The best players are those that can maintain a high standard of performance on a regular basis. So a fit Cahill would be my selection over Sakho every time.

It's interesting that while there remains a clamour among the fans to get another striker, I think we have a major problem waiting to happen at centre back. Cahill and Dann because of their age, Tompkins because of his fitness levels - Sakho the same plus being error prone and Kelly, while a great professional, is really no more than a stopgap.

he doesnt know when to clear and when to pass, everytime he gets the ball at his feet i panic he thinks he is Messi, I was a full back, playing with a guy like him I would be screaming at him, Simple rule of defending DONT PASS THE BALL ABOUT IN THE DANGER AREAS WHEN THE OPPERSITION IS ALL AROUND YOU, KICK THE F*CKING THING AWAY OR OUT.
its that simple and he doesnt, Give Sam Woods a chance at least he wont try and be better than he is

Agreed, don't try and be clever and make pin point passes out of defence all the time. Show him some footage of Damien Delaney playing for us!
