I've been amazed at how quickly has grown in confidence. He still lacks the dynamism of PvA who seems able to run up and down the pitch without ever looking tired, but definitely a capable understudy and potential successor.

He seems to be improving with every game. Hopefully this will continue. Let's not get carried away, but doing very well so far.

I think if we are comparing TM to PVA or AWB it seems to me that he is a balance between the two. He is solid going forward but not in the same way that PVA can burst into an attacking drive as PVA is really quick. Equally he doesn't have the spider legs of AWB where he can make these incredible last ditch challenges. However, this will end up working to his advantage as a player as he is capable of both parts of what a modern PL left-back needs to be. I think with time and games he will end up being a really solid player able to be solid at the back and occasionally help us going forward which for us is perfect. Don't get me wrong AWB was incredible and PVA can give us those break away moments but both of them had their pitfalls (albeit AwB has improved at his forward play since being at MU). TM will be a slow burner I think but he could surpass both of them eventually.

Very tidy debut, another one of the Palace conveyor belt. Let’s hope we give him time to develop and not offload him as soon as someone crinkles some pretty green...

Well after Shaw's comments about needing new players, Man U have gone and bought a left back (LOL) so can't expect 50 million from them until next summer

The way he has played so far why would any manager drop him, PVA fit or not?

TM is progressing well, Still early days of course. When PvA is back Hodgson has a nice thorny problem - replace TM or move PvA up to LM to replace Schlupp, so as to keep TM at LB. TM has plenty of time to mature and PvA's contract ends in a year (ois it two?) so whatever Hodgson decides, TM has a promising future here provided we can keep him.
