I hope he's on the road to recovery. Presumably a qualified physician checked this injury very carefully and also made sure Benteke's feet were both facing the right way round before leaving the hospital!

July 24: "Christian's got a cracked bone in his foot. [It's] amazing really as he played so long with that cracked bone, we thought it was a bone bruise." Cahill and Sakho both tore their hamstring muscles and Ferguson is still undergoing rehab for his knee injury. Tomkins has a thigh muscle injury. Patrick is probably the closest to a return.

CB has been hiding on the pitch so he doesnt have a clear cut chance. He has the football equivalent of the darts yips. Half chances and tight angles he doesn't mind because he is not the favourite to score. His confidence is shot

31 goals over the whole of last season suggests the problems are more complex than ‘Benteke is sh*t’. You don’t go from a 15-20 goal a season striker to 0-2 overnight. We are devoid of chances and creativity. We play with inverted wide players and since Roy’s arrival have not played to his strengths or any striker’s strengths for that matter. He was starting to look a lot better towards the end of last season. I said at the end of the season before that I thought Ayew was looking much better and I fancied him to have a great next season people on here rubbished me. I am going to repeat that prediction with Christian. If we play the 442 narrow diamond and he plays up front this season, he will have a great season. If we stick with that formation and he gets a fair crack and has a poor season I will donate £50 to Palace for life.
