Wins a lot in the air, is direct in his running when on the offensive and good shot on him. On the downside, seems very slow at tracking back at times, not a great passer and seems to make some poor decisions. If Eze comes in then I think he might see his chances restricted, even more so if we get Fraser too, but still not a bad player to have in the squad.

Schluppy has had a lot of stick on here particularly in the early days but there is no doubt we are a better side with him in it.

Currently, Schlupp is the only midfield player who seems able to score from open play (I know Jimmy Mac got one last night but he drew a blank last season). Schlupp's direct approach (think Bournemouth last season and Fulham the season before) often comes as a surprise to the opposition. We tend to play slow and predictable and suddenly out of nowhere Schlupp bombs forward and shoots.

He seems more like an attacking mid than a winger currently. He could sit behind our striker and have the odd long shot. A striker could follow up for rebounds. That's if we have a striker or left midfielder other than him this season. Also it relies on us having an attacking midfielder, or even having any attacks. I think Schlupp is pretty good and seems to have come back from injury strongly. Shame some of our other players look half dead.

He will never be more than a average PL player - simply lacking football brain.

someone said old fashioned left half, I think he's more inside left! As a full back or winger he gets lost, but when he is in an advanced position in midfield he can drive forward and use his tremendous strength and pace, and he has a great shot on him - as a left sided attacking midfielder he is great, but cr*p in every other position. And to those who wonder why we are better with him, it's because he is the only one of our midfielders with any pace so we are better at turning defence into attack with him in the side.

he should be played up top. he seems to be the best finisher at the club. i think this has been said behind the scenes of the club aswell

Shame he was injured for much of the season, I could have seen him playing in an advanced role and doing a decent job for us. Defenders do not like playing against strength and pace and he has both.

Offers more than townsend and Meyer put together, one of the rare players we have that wants to have a go at goal.

Feel like we could have a similar situation with Sako if we played him up top. It could be a good move as he genuinely has an eye for goal and in midfield I don’t think he offers enough defensively, but he is direct, fast and willing to challenge for aerial balls.
