An interesting topic and welcome distraction from wfh. I guess this is prompted by the Saudi takeover of the Toon. Does any other Palace fan feel grateful we are not majority owned by a sadistic, misogonistic, theocracy? Harris can keep his additional dosh - he's not a benefactor but a business man. Unless you find one with very, very deep pockets you're skating on thin ice. Personally I want the club to be run as a business by decent people. The yanks (who are minority shareholders) maybe private equity types, so hardly pristine but far better than some of the alternatives in my view. Err no; they're the largest shareholders by far. Where did you get the idea that they weren't from?

Unless you have access to the ultimate holding company's records (which none of have) it's impossible to say who owns what; suffice to say that the two major US investors have a controlling interest. Unfortunately Google can't help on this one.

Never thought of Mike Ashley like that, but, now you come to mention it . . . .

The board are allowed to put some cash into the club. I can't remember how much but it is something like 12 mil a season and then there is no penalty. That just about covers one or two players' wages. Something tells me that there are ways round it for other teams. Just not us, apparently.

I had wondered whether our US owners had decided to cut pay for staff in their other teams. Initially, they were going to cut salaries, but Daniel Levyed their decision. The statement from them is reasonable enough.

also i would much rather have SP as an owner and flirt with mid-table than have that s***house who has brought noocastle, even if they do invest heavily and get champs league. genuinely cannot believe their fans are happy having this guy over ashley, who ran the club properly.

The misogony ( sic ) doesn't prevent being in a consortium put together by a woman. I am no fan of Saudi Arabia or political posturing on football forums. Originally posted by Aray

If you have a poll of Toon fans on the question " Did Ashley run the club properly, yes or no , you think there would be a yes majority? Just asking Originally posted by braunstoneagle
