I just love watching us in the 1st div days 69 -73 in claret and blue, either the pin stripes or the don rogers - there's a 2-2 with Leeds and a 2-3 v Arsenal which shows what a good player John Craven was, got him from Blackpool and was sold to Coventry I believe

Norman Hunter kicked him off the pitch after John had scored twice if I remember.

I was watching the season review of 1990/91 season last night, with extended highlights of the ZDS Final. Still hard to believe we finished 3rd. Great memories. Also a reminder of why I hate Martin Keown

Love watching Palace 5 Man Utd 0. Pity TV didn't show games below the 1st Div in the old days because one game I would love to watch again would be Palace 8 Watford 1.

Only a couple of weeks after that Watford match we beat Barrow 9-0. I'd like to watch that one too - though obviously not for the same reason.

It was Big Mal who sold John Craven to Coventry real dumb deal, seem to remember his first or one of his first goals for them was a bicycle kick, great player for us in the day.

it may be worth asking one of the mods to trawl the hol archives for staffiesnlive football links thread.

he used to upload links to palace games that were televised.

the club have also released 4 promotion season review files in the past week

Craven was never a prolific goalscorer and never scored that many for Coventry.

Well before Malcolm, it was Bert Head who sold John.

John Craven played in the 1972-73 season, his last at the club.He was signed by Bert Head.

Bert Head left towards the end of the season and was replaced by 'Big Mal', so we had two managers that campaign.
Craven was sold at the end of that season so he departed whilst 'Big Mal' was at the helm.

No need to apologise Sir.

I suspect there have been occasions on HOL where 'Yours Truly' has posted unintended mis-information, probably owing to the fact that I am somewhat 'Ripe' in years and the passage of time dims the memory on occasions.
