Is there any PL referee you like? He is one of our best and FIFA also agree. Ahhh let me think, there have a couple of refs who’s performances were good and I think we lost in both matches... so overall the PL has more bad ones than good... Just my opinion of course...

.... but he is one of our best refs and regularly officiates at Euro competitions. Having said that he is bound to upset someone ! Just hope he puts an early lid on any nonsense from several Watford players who are intent on mayhem and baiting Zaha. Please Wilf, pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get on with it. That's the way to get more fouls rather than moaning .. This will actually be our best bet of keeping their way of playing away from unsettling us, they have a good recent record against us which is helping them enormously since they became sinisterly involved in concentrating their devilment on the one or two better players who had the cheek to question them on the pitch.

I have no idea what the ref done wrong in this one. He booked players when they deserved to be booked. There was no bad fouls. What more can he do ?

There were several bad fouls before anyone was booked., Capoue being the main culprit all game, how it took the ref so long to book him beggars belief. Wilf booked for innocuous tug at players arm, his first foul. I don’t know if you were at the game but towards the end Ayew went down and asked for VAR, Capoue appeared to rake the back of his ankle but did it through the legs of other players. He really is a nasty snake of a player

I genuinely don't know how Taylor can be considered one of the best referees - it doesn't say much for the rest. I thought he was poor yesterday. The second half incident when Wilf was fouled on the edge of the Watford penalty area could have been swiftly dealt with by giving a yellow card ( merited ) to the defender. Instead he took no action which resulted in tempers boiling over on both sides, at which point he had no control. And that contributed to the 5 minutes added on at the end of the game.

Anthony Taylor was useless yesterday. Deeney continually fouling Zaha, Kouyate and Ayew, ref watched by. Then Zaha pulls a shirt and goes STRAIGHT into the book, Meanwhile Capoue should have been carded twice in the first half alone. Joke

He definitely had a thing for booking the subtle, annoying little tugs rather than for GBH. Towards the end, the incident with the ball boy and one of theirs (Capoue I think) who proceeded to throw the ball at PVA and push him hard in the chest was remarkable. I thought it would be a nailed-on red card but no, not even a proper talking to. It was stunning to note that we ended up with as many bookings as them. ....

Didn’t see the bellboy/PVA incident from my vantage point, what happened?
