What I don’t understand is how the club has found itself in this situation.
The club appears rudderless.
Either the Americans are being used as a convenient scapegoat for lack of transfer activity or the terms of their initial investment meant that Parish effectively ceded control to them for transfers above a certain level.
This means we cannot move forward as a club until the ownership issue is resolved as it seems impossible to formulate a coherent transfer strategy.
And recruitment is a key part of a club being able to thrive.
Look at what has happened to clubs like Stoke, WBA, Leeds and Sunderland when you get it wrong.

The two of them hold twice the controlling interest that Parish does so there can be no expenditure by Parish unless at least one of the US investors consents. Parish is not in charge (he's one of three directors, all with an equal say), as CEO he's just responsible for the day-to-day running of the club, for which he's paid handsomely.

If we do not improve the current squad rather than having the odd loan or two?

Zaha will probably leave this summer. Our defence is okay but we still need full backs for both the LB and RB spot. Midfield is ageing so we need younger players there. And we definitely need another 2 wingers and a striker who can score 15+ goals a season.

In all honesty though, I think the summer will be the same as January. Look for 2 loan deals max. I think the owners do not really care and it seems as though the fact that we are in the EPL is all they care about rather than becoming a top 10 established side which we should try and aspire to do every season.

However, if we do not make improvements I definitely feel next year we will be hovering near relegation places.

With the benefit of hindsight the model look flawed.
When Hodgson goes, which manager of any ambition is going to want to work in that set up?
Either new owners need to be found or the model has to change.
We have the oldest squad in the Premier League ,increasingly injury prone with no young players coming through that are likely to challenge the first team any time soon.

How about relegation as a possibility this season?

That’s assuming we are still in the EPL next season! We are only 7 points above the drop zone now.

Being a Palace supporter for nearly 60 years I concur. We are not safe until mathematically so, given our recent performances I think it is a case of lets wait and see.
Personally I think we will be ok but it wont be as clear cut as many seem to think

Definitely. The Roy haters had better hope he sticks around to guide whatever underfunded, cobbled-together squad he's given.

Relegation is a possibility every season.

Unless we can improve on the woeful performance against Southampton (although admittedly they are on a current run of exceptional form), we could be just above or in the bottom three in the next few weeks. Hope not, as being in the top tier has been a happy few years all round.

What is all this negativity about? We have had a good first half to the season and have a solid very experienced squad of players. Why is it now all of a sudden going to fall apart? Nothing has changed we have injuries that come and go but still we pickup points. The transfer window meant we did not get any backup despite efforts to get a few players in. One was found to be medically suspect therefore good decision not to buy , one was offered far more than we wanted to pay or could afford and a forward was brought in on loan. Cannot see that this set of circumstances means the club is falling apart.. We are not in the bottom section fighting for our lives so bringing players in whilst useful was not essential.
Next season is a different scenario but in the meantime let us get behind the boys ! COYP
