I prefer to take Alan Mullery's valuation of the club into account.

The squad's overall transfer balance since the winter of 2017 (when I first started writing the transfer threads) has been of minus 43 million pounds (95 million invested, 52 recovered), with investments in Sorloth, Jach, among others. I won't even go backwards to speak of the 30 million on Benteke!! Meyer arrived free, but on a gigantic salary.

The current possible transfer values of the squad are:

.............Tosun (0-loan)...................
..............(Benteke)(10m).................
.............................................
Zaha(60m).....J. Ayew(15m)....Townsend(15m)
(Schlupp)(15m)...(Wickham)(0m)....(Meyer)(10m)
.............................................
........Kouyate (10m).....Milivojevic (20m)..
.......(McArthur)(5m-age)...(McCarthy)(3m)...
.............................................
PVA(10)...Cahill(0-age)..Tomkins(20)..Ward(10)
(Riedewald....................................
5m).....(Sakho)(20).(Dann)(ending).(Kelly)(10)
..............................................
..............Guaita (15m)....................
..............Hennessey(2m)...................

That's a 255 million squad, with assets also in Sorloth, who may be worth another 10 million. Transfermarkt lists the squad at 217 million euros, but I think my estimations hold. Sure, you could add another 20 million to the price of Zaha, or you could take away from Sakho given his recent injuries, but I think these are more realistic.

Average age of squad is 29,1 years, the oldest in the Premier League.

Interesting to see it laid out but I think you're being slightly generous.

I'd say half the amounts for
Sakho, Ward and Kelly. And 10 max for Schlupp and Townsend. Even then I don't think there'd be too many suitors. Possibly promoted teams or teams in an injury crisis at a push. This is not to say I don't rate them at palace but would others see fit to make such investments. As always it doesn't really matter what we value players as it's just what someone is willing to pay. As per the situation with Wilf.

There's always a price. And zero for Cahill, Dann and Wickham is frankly nonsense.

It's in how much the team could get for them, not how much the players costs.

For example, Dann is ending his contract. The team can get exactly 0 for him.

Wickham may go on loan to a Championship club, but they won't pay right now for a man who has been injured so long. Cahill would only leave for free if he'd leave.

Yeah, I tried to be fair though. I also posted in the Transfer Talk section in my thread and I tried to say that I could have built a better squad, worth more money since 2017 until now. But I also tried to be fair to the club management and say that the figure for which they bought Sakho still holds.

I mean, surely Palace would not agree to sell Sakho for less than 20 million. But there might be no one to offer this money anymore...

Kind of like the Tekkers situation..

After watching that tonight, I stand by my comment, we've only got 10 players who'd fetch more than £5m

Guita
Ayew
Wilf
Luka
Tomkins
PVA
Max
Schlupp
Riedwald
Kouyate

So who would you add to that list?

I can't think of any more and judging by PSV's low ball offer for PVA, doesn't look like he'll go for much more than £5m.

Players are worth what someone is prepared to pay, for example, Benteke is worth 4/5 of f@ck all

A few months on I'd say PVA would be another to sell for less than 5m

And Wilf's value has plummeted too
