I was thinking the same thing. I don't order enough on Amazon to benefit from the free delivery and I am not impressed by their Prime video / TV offering so I would be cancelling after the free trial. I have no problem if next time they say no free trial but as you say will it cause problems?

And you’ll consider taking it up next year again as this is the future. This will be the end of people wanting to stream. Can see amazon or Netflix eventually offering any prem match, 3pm or not, for a tenner a go. It’s coming

Gladly!

Fair point live in the now. I will take out the free subscription and see how I go if I like it I may even keep it otherwise as you say tomorrow is another day.

That may work if you have a smart TV although it will stop the family member / friend from having a trial for a year but if you don't have a smart TV or want to watch on a tablet or PC you will need to have your friend's Amazon account on the tablet too

The free next day delivery isn't always as attractive as it may seem as although I get all of my stuff delivered the following day it tends to be at 8:30pm

Films and TV programs on Prime tend to be different to those on Netflix but mine suffers quite badly with the sound being out of sync with the mouth movements which I find quite annoying. Amazon blame it on my hardware etc but it's odd that it doesn't happen on Netflix.

Anyway, being out of sync doesn't affect the footie thank goodness

I can get Amazon through my BT TV box so I will give it a go later. Annoying the one I would prefer is NOW TV the Sky streaming service but BT only allow the movies and nothing else.

Looked at the Netflix catalogue and was very disappointed a lot of 2nd rate movies and Asian cinema not as good as it is cracked up to be.

Good article on the Guardian on it. In the end the "choice" means more expense to watch as you need different subscriptions. Feel for the UK based fans as I get away with most of the games for a mere 15 quid per month in HD.

On top of that, the game going fans gets properly burdened by the late scheduling of kick off times. A friend of mine joining us for the Newcastle away game is paying over 140 pounds for a return train ticket from Surrey, more then my flight from Amsterdam.

Millions of dollars to be made per day with matches normally spread over 3 or 4 days and more when there are mid week games.
Fill out the rest of the schedule with U23 games, documentaries, highlight programmes & the like.

Sounds good but it's not that simple to just setup this type of service.

If it was so easy why hasn't Simon Jordon jumped on board with some others to try and push this through simple really because it's expensive and not that easy also this may work for IPTV but you still need deals to provide coverage on standard TV which % wise most people prefer (not everyone has good internet)

The other thing is the people that provide or own main server farms which they would buy space from is the likes of Amazon so maybe this will happen in time which is why they signed deal with Amazon.

I agree regarding so called next day delivery it's very misleading really.

Those issues are on your end nothing to do with Amazon and Netflix uses Amazons server farms they come down the same pipeline.

Fairly lucky here in Aus. Optus have the Premier league and although I don't have an Optus phone anymore I can still log in to Optus sport and watch the Palace for free. 11pm kick off here now your clocks have gone back so have to pace myself on the sherbets or else I end up falling asleep!

If I get lip sync issues with Amazon but not with Netflix how can the problem be at my end?

If you Google "lip sync issues with amazon prime" you will see that I'm not the only one having these problems

Have to say I’m pleased with my Amazon £79 a year account. Well worth the money if used. I also have the music unlimited via Amazon which bumps it up more but I’ve got Sonos in a couple of rooms which is great for it. I make sure I use the delivery side as well as the tv / films. They have started showing tennis and this with the football is good in my eyes. Only problem is that I will be at the two Palace matches they are showing as they are both at home. Choice tomorrow will be the Liverpool v Everton or Man Utd v Spurs games?

Would guess it ain't going to be a big crowd for B'mouth. Can't make it but Twickets just told me my season ticket seat is unsold and taken off sales list

bet it is a fairly s*** crowd with fairly s*** viewing figures. we'll do well to get 50k Amazon viewers if you ask me.

tv on football is absurdly saturated and this is a high water mark.
