We have had forty one shots on target so far this season, average for teams around us in this league.

But according to today's Times (quote)
" .... it is a worrying statistic that with just 117 attempts in 12 games, Palace are the most shot-shy team in the league"

Pretty difficult to have a shot when 80% of the time we are on our own 18 yard line.

We have 'STRIKERS' in our squad?

Well, we do have a couple of players who spend their lives sitting down ......not sure if it's in protest

In years past I have happily admitted on this site that I don't know much about football. And the un-witty response to that is that that's because I've been following Palace for over 60 years.

But, ignorant or not, I have kept believing that a man who has coached and managed at the highest levels can do a better job with our team than the experts who criticise him. But there have recently been some very constructive and in my opinion sensible - and critical - posts on this thread, and I am at last coming round to the conclusion that Roy has lost it. Whether that's down to his acquiescence in our dreadful transfer market dealings, his coaching, his tactics, or what, I wouldn't care to say.

I think he should tell Parish that he simply can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, and that if that's what's required of him, then resign.

Has he gone the full Brian Clough or just the Phil Brown/ Nigel Pearson?

Not that long ago, there were some on HOL who were raising the possibility of getting into Europe.Three defeats,in the last four games, all predictable, against three teams in the current top four and all of a sudden the mood has changed with Hodgson etc all coming in for a degree of ordure.

You mean do an 'Ian Holloway' ?
It may come to that and I will be sad but as Mr Jordon famously said: 'be careful what you wish for'
I was going to say: better the devil you know but our reputation as a serious footballing side is fading fast and unless the manager devises a Plan B soon who knows if he will survive the pressure?

The manager's prime objective is to ensure that we survive in the PL.

To date his 'Plan A' has worked, he believes that his 'Plan A' stands the best chance of achieving this objective with the players at his disposal, so he will see no reason to revert to a 'Plan B' at this juncture.

It is a very hard watch for us supporters but to be honest, I expected nothing else and mentioned this on HOL before the season started.

I think we should play Benteke v Liverpool.

Teams have realised that Ayew doesn't hold the ball up and hasn't the pace to run behind them.

Benteke might not be the most mobile, but now and then he will get us up the pitch without over-committing players, which is clearly a priority for Roy.

You can't score goals without ever being at the right end of the pitch.

With Ayew as the lone striker, teams can relentlessly pile into us.

Don't get me wrong, Benteke isn't the ultimate answer, but Ayew is going to see us pinned back without any escape even more in matches against top sides.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

You know as well as we all do that's it's not just about the last four games. What about Everton (currently 15th), Colchester, Villa (17th), Spurs (14th) and Wolves (8th)? Against those five we garnered the princely total of 2 goals.

But you're right in drawing attention to some of the wilder mood swings that have taken place amongst
some posters. Whoever was even dreaming about Europe
needs a few more years of following our beloved club.
