We have played 16 halves of competitive football this season and conceded over half our goals in just one of them (1st half v Spurs)

Given that compared to last year we have not had Wan-Bissaka, Tomkins and little of Sahko, that is pretty impressive

I never agreed with a lot of people that we would struggle badly without AWB. Yes the chap is a good player but his tackling skills are basically what he is all about. You could say we havn't even noticed him gone and our defensive record this year would stand up for that.

Apart from the visit to White Hart Lane? Lets see what happens to our defensive record in the next few matches against some better opposition warming up with West Ham away and then playing City at home!
Play the next six matches and lets see where we are defensively.

Guys come on who’s the one’s being naive mention in Europe and all that.

Without the want of sounding cynical out of those four games we played three of those against 10 men for large chunks of the games and could only draw, one of which against Wolves Who hadn’t won all season. And let’s face it by the laws of the game Villa should have also been a draw as we all know they had a perfectly good goal ruled out late on.

So the truth of it is we’ve played against two promoted sides, one of which was as you all say was against a naive side and Unlikely to seen again at Selhurst Park again this season and the other two against ten men of mid table teams.

I actually agree with Neil Custace the Palace supporting newspaper reporter earlier on talkSPORT in that the real test is against the next six very hard games, all 3 of which are home to teams who will be in the top five come the end of the season.

And we all know what happened to the last game against a top five side who are supposedly in turmoil and struggled to beat Southampton by the odd goal at the same ground on Saturday unlike our drubAnd we all know what happened to the last game against a top five side who are supposedly in turmoil and struggled to beat Southampton by the odd goal at the same ground on Saturday unlike our drubbing.

Over the years I found getting my hopes up usually is the worst thing to do. So come on, one game at a time.

It’s West Ham, Leicester, Man C, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool next. Have a think about that.

True. But how many times have we played teams from the lower part of the division (sometimes against 10 men) and still f@cked things up?

Don’t think we are getting carried away with anything. Just nice to walk out the ground with a smile on your face for a change.

Sets off image of you catching the eye of a female going into the women’s toilets at 4.50pm and giving her a quickie drilling before she goes home with her boyfriend.
