If we carry on our current ratio of points to games played then we're on track to get 50 points.

We're above Norwich, we're also above Everton who have spent £380m in the last 3 windows and level on points with Man U who've spent £395m. We've spent £61m.

It's not the most exciting football, but it's hardly cause for all this bed wetting.

I'd be much more upset if I was Everton or Utd or Watford after an 8-0 spanking.

I dont understand what some of you expect from this team. We are in an unbelievably difficult division with a threadbare squad yet are holding our own. Our overall points tally right now is about right but have a look at the table and see that we are level with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd a point ahead of Everton who have spent 125 million in the summer.

Our main issue which we all knew it would be is scoring goals. There will be some big teams getting relegated this season so give up your moaning and realise that we are doing ok in our current situation.

It is not Roy’s fault that his number one aim is to stay in this division because if you asked more than 10 managers that will be there same objective. We are no where near ready enough to push for a European spot with this squad and our current finances so yes our best option is to just stay in the division and hopefully finish about 10.

I agree John, We're level on points with 7th place Spurs.
It was gutting to concede that goal yesterday and miss the chance to go 6th, but it happens, its football, we did it to United 3 weeks ago.
I do agree Benteke has to be dropped from the squad. Camarasa played as a 9 for Cardiff on occasion and did it pretty well, why cant he be Ayew's 70th minute replacement? Cant be worse than Benteke.

I can see Norwich coming onto us and leaving room in behind.. Im confident.

Im not saying its doom and gloom or that well be relegated just that Roy wont change a thing Im sure and I fear for our abilities to break them down on saturday.

Like someone posted earlier GROUNDHOG DAY, just replay villa at home game very similar to the wolves one yesterday, By the way wolves beat us last season in the final minute.

I do think something feels wrong at the club, but I'm very happy with our points tally thus far.

I think there is uncertainty among many fans about what the club should aspire to be.

Like, another season of mid table mediocrity would be exceptional given the circumstances. But we all naturally want a sense of progression and movement toward something.

But what? And how in a way that's feasible...

Anyway...If we beat Norwich, we are having a superb start. They are going to come at us probably...and they're poor away from home...it could suit us.

However he set's us up,& however we play I just fecking hope Roy drops the Sub Ayew for Benny,on or around the 65 minute mark.
Ayew looked totally pished off, when he saw his number come up,give the lad a full 90mins.
It's not a given but I reckon of the 2 chances the Benny (Lacking confidence to hit it first time) & the Schluppy one on one,I think Ayew would have deffo buried one of them chance's,had Roy not taken him off.

Roy is hamstrung by strikers, who don't perform. We created enough chances to win easily yesterday, they were all guilty not just Benteke. Therefore Roy is never going to play an expansive open game, but keep it competitive and tight, anyone expecting anything else is going to be disappointed.

Evertons team on Saturday was the most expensive they have ever fielded in their history at £317 million. Reports suggest they were very poor and lost at home to a new promoted side. Their fans don't rate Silva, who has never done anything of note.
Paying big money for players isn't the answer, if the manager doesn't know what to do with them.

Doesn't mean they can't beat us. Watching today's game they would have sussed out Roy's tactics and subs.

First half they'd have rubbed their hands, second half more their arses.
Defensively we will improve, Roy's tactics are perfectly good enough ..it is not his fault that some of our players are unable to carry them out.

Expectation is killing all of them.
I remember Southampton doing exactly the same thing.

Some very short memories on here. The football served up at home under Allardyce was absolutely dire with a couple of notable exceptions yet most were disappointed when he walked.

At least our players are looking to keep the ball and play possession football. Granted it's a bit turgid at times but Roy's football has mostly been the best we've played since promotion apart from a golden spell under Pardew.

Norwich score goals but concede goals.
They have not kept a 'Clean sheet' and conceded 14 goals in their 6 PL games.
They have lost all their away games.
But at the end of the day, only 1 of our players has scored in our 3 home PL games.
