What credentials....pathetic ..just like Dougie appointment and as future management..you are taking the piss He has been a coach, a manager, an assistant manager, a captain at a football club, knows the club, knows the ethos of the club, knows the people around him he will be working with, knows what it takes to work hard as a player to reach the highest levels, has been through the high and low points at the club, will have a positive influence on players working their way up hopefully into palaces first team (or at least some of them.) So please tell me why you feel he is a bad choice? Or is it that you think everyone associated with the club cannot return? If you bother to listen/watch his interview you may feel differently but I doubt youd strain yourself to do so.

Or Dougie? Richard Shaw? Strange tea ladies we have. Ofcourse the players are different, hes working with the academy..

Tough and passionate and understands the club, it’s history and it’s ethos. Welcome back Shaun. The sort of mentality we need to be encouraging in our youngsters.

Reckon he's a solid addition and great to see investment going into the academy. The fuss about us employing old players is hardly unique to us. Clubs up and down the country do similar things. But obviously you notice it more at Palace as that's the team we support. A quick glance at Chelsea and I think I counted 10ex players on this staff list and that's not even covering reserve/youth team managers where you normally get a load more ex players.

I welcome Mr Derry back to the club . If you listen and read about the poor academy coaching , as also shown by the lack of players coming through , he my be just what we need to give everyone a kick up the ****
