Andros works his socks off week in week out, more assists than anyone this season and it would've been a lot more had we had someone who could take their chances up front but people want to say he's crap?

Agreed and he has done so much defending recently especially since Wan broke into the side. But will that help him grab another cap or two? Who knows an apart from Andros who cares??
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Nobody said he was crap. We just said he wasn't a striker. My point was that given the number of posts on here complaining about our having no strikers other than Benteke, one might be forgiven for wondering HTF you could fail to realise this.

When exactly did I or anyone say he was a striker apart from you and Eddie? Go back to planet moron pal.

What Andros (& Wilf) need is young, hungry, high potential wingers that are ready to step into the team when called upon. I think Andros is just about right for us & I like his attitude, but he’s the type of player to blow hot and cold & even on his day he’s fairly average at best. People will of course site to Schlupp as one of the alternatives from a wide position but I am completely unconvinced he offers much going forward. Another work horse that is good to have at the club as back up for LB & emergency replacement on the wing but I feel we’ve spent enough time in the premier league to actually have some selection problems in attacking areas. You can’t ever see Schlupp causing Townsend, let alone Wilf, any serious problems for a position in the starting 11. The good thing about young players, especially attacking young players where there is a lot less risk, is you can essentially buy the potential quality for a lot less than the polished article. Occupying space in the squad can only be done with mediocre players, if we’re too focused on experience. Especially at a club of our size, with our budget. Young players know the drill from day one in terms of their place within the squad and ones with the right attitude can keep players like Andros on his toes & push him to be a bit more ruthless from attacking areas. We’ve needed more depth in wide areas for some time now. It was the same story with Wilf & Yala as it is now.

Sorry , there are better options for England. He's had an average season at best. Looks good going forward but a little too predicable. Can't cross with his right foot and defenders know it. Loses procession too easily too IMO. As for defending, oh please!

I rate andros, always runs his socks off and can be a game changer, i would l;ove for none of our players to be involved in the world cup but be relaxing, injury free, on the beach , and saving their energy for next season, and legs!

He is an attacking player after all and has been playing in a two man attack of late, and he's left footed. I've always rated him when playing for England, since his Spurs days, as he's one of a few England players to at least have a crack at having a shot rather than passing the ball, and thus the buck.

Andros has never let England down in the past. A good natural wide option.

Better options in what way? The guy works very hard both defensive duties and attack He also has international experience and shown he can play at that level
