Bad Santa is quite amusing. A Christmas Carol is always watchable. The one with Alistair Sim is quite hard to beat.

My wife likes White Christmas, I absolutely hate it.

I have a colour version of A Wonderful Life that I have yet to unrap despite having it for several years.

How did I miss Miracle on 24th street off. Both versions for me although Dickie Attenborough for Santa and Natalie Wood as the little girl and the original ending.

Gremlins.

Which I believe has a clip where the mum is watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ on the telly in the kitchen and is crying. Doesn’t she blame the onions or something?

Mind you I’ve only seen Gremlins once - at the cinema when it was first released - so I may be confusing it with another movie.

Unlike Frank Capra’s classic, which I’ve watched countless times. In my view it’s one of the best movies ever made, Christmas or not.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Blimey no mention of Spartacus, Ben Hur or Lawrence of Arabia, The Great Escape or The Heroes of Telemark.

I watched that on Sunday night, it's my favourite

Surprised I missed that one. Another favourite.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Nothing comes remotely close to national lampoon Christmas vacation. Mind you even chevy chase Himself has been quoted as saying it's a wonderful life is number one.

I absolutely hate 'Its a Wonderful Life'. Christmas for me is 'Leaving Las Vegas' followed by 'Requiem for a Dream' and finally 'Come and See'.

If I'm feeling particularly festive I might throw in 'The Fountain'.

It's a bit overrated in my view.

That's True Lies. In Trading Places she is out of her underwear, well topless anyway.

Great film. Home Alone, Elf, A Christmas Carol and some other good ones mentioned.

Optimistic as ever
