Not all the left hate this country and its history by any means....but of those that do...they come from the left. It's such a shame that very few of them leave. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Sep 2017 2.02pm)

public schoolboys play wugger, state 8school plebs play 'chavball' - that's why we're crp at both - it is truly patriotic to hate the things that hold your country back, like deeply engrained snobbery, we never had a Wimbledon champion for 75 years while centre court players had to bow to the royal box ... coincidence? Leonard Rossiter, who had schoolboy trials for Everton, was discouraged from advancing his football career cos it was unsuitable for a grammar school boy, we don't have untouchables in this country, but if we did they'd more likely play football than rugby. Is this true or am I just being left wing? The thing is in a less backward country this point of view would be considered the obvious state of affairs, most Swedish or Australian conservatives would agree. That's why out of my four snobbery is number 1. Although it would have been number two if I'd have thought of speaking in a South London accent to plumbers.

I too have contempt for elitism.....to the extent that it disfigures meritocracy by limiting access and hence opportunity for 'lower' classes or those that think differently. I don't have contempt for elitism in terms of competence or meritocracy.....this aspect of elitism has to maintained.....When Youtube allows the view of a charismatic conspiracy theorist to become more popular than say.... the scientist....then we have some inherent problems. A properly qualified person must always been held in esteem.....though never to the extent that they aren't open to question. Checks and balances.
