You can see all this leading to child's entertainers and circus clowns getting a good kick in just for doing there job and mistaken identity.

Hopefully.

Mind you, you could say the same of people who are professional IRA impersonators.

I wonder what the stance would be if a person minding their own business ended up giving a serious kicking to a person dressed as a clown that had jumped out on them. Assuming there wasn't evidence of excessive force, it has to go down as self defence right? If you argue you were frightened and just reacted on impulse.

They'd be fair game so long as you didn't use a weapon I'd think.

Optimistic as ever

What if they had a weapon and I grabbed whatever was to hand, such as a fence post?

Its all grown out of a viral marketing campaign for the remake of 'It'.

Only because you're currently naked.

I wouldn't need to hunt for a fence post if I was.

What is the point of clowns. As a rule they're not funny, nor scary, nor capable of any really marketable entertainment skills.

This is why kids grow up scared of clowns, because they spent years in terror approaching every birthday party, scared that they would be forced to witness the soul destroying spectacle of a grown adult being patronised by children for money.

They're one allegation away from being a hobo

Certainly, when I was a kid, my first birthday party clown made me realise that its possible to fail really badly in life. Clowning for money, is basically one down from begging.

Could say the same about ghosts. What's the point of ghosts? Just what have ghosts done for us?

Tell Ronald McDonald that. He's done quite well out of it

And one of the fellas from Slipknot.

There you go Jamie, that's two clowns that have given back to society but you're yet to name a single useful ghost.
