Coventry. It's like f***** Hogwarts with the road system - pretty sure they lift up and move of their own accord. Never yet managed to get in and out of the place the same way. Couple that with when you do get lost - its a grey, soulless mass of Birmingham lite. I spent the weekend just gone in & around Leicester, stayed opposite Haymarket Bus Station, the place was just grey, dull and dingy, grim.

On a few occasions I have driven through Dunstable on my way to Milton Keynes and the outskirts. The part of Dunstable that I drive through is certainly not the most salubrious of places. Edited by Willo (07 Sep 2016 8.22am)

The name of Basingstoke fills me with horror, as it represents a den of semi-detached accountants twitching net curtains to assess the neighbours new vacuum cleaner. A suburban dystopia part John Betjeman's Slough, part DBC Pierre's Texas. Dunno why exactly, only changed trains there. Camber - I was surprised for a town with famous beaches there was a Pontins, a weird pub with the blinds down in summer and not a lot else. Kuala Lumpur's CBD.

Correct. Too many roundabouts, the sheer volume is frightening! I have two places above there though: Flint and Rhyl, in North Wales. Vile places. Have you driven between the south coast and Crawley/Gatwick on the A24 / A264 ? Edited by Willo (07 Sep 2016 8.45am)

Worthing/Durrington/Goring. As this is meant to be an irrational fear, I have no further comments to back this up.
