I f**king hate Rush fans, and fail to understand how they and Kiss, are still a thing. Also, Iron Maiden, Queen and Marillion.

Ok, I'm not saying these aren't decent bands, with their moments, but f**k me, there are people out there who I swear have never listened to any other band.

Also Dead Heads, arguably the Dead barely released anything really good since American Beauty in 1970, yet they were still a thing until 1995 when Garcia finally died.

I shall have to ask you to step outside.

Next you will be dissing À La Recherche du Temps Perdu.

Parrot

This is the only one of their albums i own so i'm not a Rush fan as such, but it was one of many great 'soundtracks' to many great times back in the day.
Love it.

I can't imagine here is the best place to say I can't understand why everyone raves so much about Pink Floyd either. They are ok, but I never get how people seem to put them on such a pedestal. So I won't say it on here, I'll keep that opinion to myself.

The trouble with some people is they slag of the big brand groups and then start on how great the f***ing Smiths or the Clash are.

Bloody Lefties usually.

I must admit I have albums by both of those as well as Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake and loads of other "cred" artists, but don't dis' Kiss, Zeppelin, Rush etc. Those guys have earned their pensions.

I must admit that when I was in a pub where Lemmy walked in, I was worried throughout our 2 minute conversation that one of his pimples was going to go off into my face.

Don't get me started on a few good albums and a whole lot of filler Floyd.

I wouldn't say any of these bands are actually s**t, some are pretty good, its just that they seem to have fans who have a massively myopic view of the band.

I get why someone likes Iron Maiden, I don't get how they think they're the 'greatest band of all time ever' etc.

The Smiths are massively over rated. They have some great albums and tracks, and I really like them, but f**k me Morrisey is a c**t.

I'm not saying they're s**t (although I really don't like Kiss at all), but that they're no where near the level people place them at.

They're not even particularly definitive. Average radio acceptable rock, dragged out over decades for 'the kids'

Kiss are an interesting conundrum. They have a great vocalist, Paul Stanley, large personalities but have always just got away with it in terms of musicianship. They have relied on a set of their classic songs for many years and until recently have always tried to follow trends rather than create them. They were born out of British glam and hard rock and always struggled to shake off the image over substance tag.
Their really good albums are the two live albums "Alive" and "Alive II" and "Destroyer""which was produced by Bob Ezrin but to appreciate Kiss you really would have to have seen them live.
