Why would we "Plundering the relegated" those teams were relegated for a reason, that reason is the players playing for those teams were not playing well enough to keep their side in the league, we need to strengthen the side not move sideways or backwards.

Agreed sir.

I would like to add Jonjo Shelvey to the list. I think he would be a good fit.

Scott Dann? Got relegated twice.

Why, he went to Newcastle knowing they were relegation candidates, when we and another club were also in for him, he made his choice hope he enjoys the Championship.

Scott Dann? Got relegated twice.

It's really only once, with Blackburn in 2012 he then played two seasons with them in the Championship before moving to Palace, also when Birmingham who were relegated in 2011, Dann did not play for them from the January due to a Hamstring injury that needed surgery so was hardly part of the relegation team.

That's logical. It's a bit like Speroni, who hasn't played for us all season (bar Trafford) so I never think of him as part of the team / squad or a reason for us being safe!

Well that doesn't exactly refute what I was saying, my point was to say there are good players in relegated teams. Whether you consider Dann to be part of that Birmingham relegation or not he was still part of the group, thus we shouldn't rule out any player from Norwich, Newcastle or Villa simply on the basis that they were part of a relegated team.

To be honest none of the squads that went down inspire me.

however I'd probably prefer Townsend, Redmond and Wijnaldum - alas no one from Vila.

Shame sunderland did not go down as I'd fancy Kirchoff, Khazri, Defoe - shows what good business they did in the January window.

Unfortunately most of the decent players of the teams that went down are wingers - a position where we do not have a lack of talent
