heard it. think it's a piece of sh%t. What are those lyrics? Sound like some kind of early-90's b side. I don't think they reflect the state of the world at all. It's so generic

The problem they have always had is that the singer (sic) is totally useless; not a singer like Bowie or a vocalist like Jagger, just a nothing, an annoying nothing. A circle with the edges rubbed out. The bass is ok, but the song is very poor. Guitar riff looking for a song. Lyrics nonsense. Their first album would've made a decent ep if they left out the filler; otherwise a massively over rated mess, generally, and the scene was somewhere else! I went to clubs in Manchester in the 90s and it was variable, some great, some crap, Roses were, in my view, over-rated in the extreme.

My thoughts exactly. Actually I would go a step further and say it is sh@t but you want to make yourself like it due to who they are. A total rip off from Dogtanian & the three muskehounds in terms of lyrics. ha ha spot on.....they must be seething !!!

Someone on Sky News said it smacks of "Paperback Writer". I must admit I was thinking the same thing musically, but the lyrics nowhere near up to the mark. Edited by mr. apollo (14 May 2016 7.46am)

I've heard worse, but it's no Fools Gold is it? If it had been entered in last night's Eurovision Song Contest it would still have come close to the bottom.

Edited by mr. apollo (14 May 2016 7.46am) Maybe the problem is you're trying to compare it with something else? To be fair they would always be stuck between a rock and a hard place since they want to produce something that is definitively Stone Roses but sounds relevant for today and not a simple throw back?

Lyrics are god awful but I bet it'd be great fun at a gig.

when I heard on the radio they had a new single out , it felt like that feeling I had as a punk in 1978 when I heard Uriah heap were getting back together , a tidal wave of s***ness . sounds like it was a B side they didn't release in 1991
