Probably not, but in hindsight we missed out on signing him when Sunderland did. I thought they paid far to much in wages for him, but it turned out well for them. He'll stay where he is, or go to the states I suspect.

He'll stay where he is, or go to the states I suspect. Signed on a very long contract, think 3.5 years, that worked out to about £14 million based on supposed wages. Agreed, good business for them as he has done the goalscoring business for them.

Signing a new contract this week for him to play for Sunderland next season, Big wages but a great signing for them pretty much the difference between them staying up and relegation.

A lot of people on here have turnt their nose up when his been suggested in the past. Of course with hindsight it's easy, but I never understand why people seem to prefer we sign some foreigner with an exotic name who's banged in a few goals in a poor European league rather than a proven prem player.
