I don't agree with Janmaat as suggestion, but I think it's sensible business to have a look at the squads of the relegated sides - AJ and Routledge were in our last relegated squad for example, and they were comfortably good enough for the top flight.

Clubs will try and cut their costs and players salaries are the single biggest outlay

Sensible business to get good players for less than they are worth. Although as for Janmaat he is absolutely s*** and I disagree

The good players hold their value. To a point. Relegated teams sometimes have to flog the family silver that means bargaons are to be had. It depends on the club. Often it will be the second season after relegation that players go e.g. AJ when promotion hasn't been achieved
