Great idea, particularly if focused around areas of lost industry. I'd say that's a far superior idea to the idea of subsidising a dying industry; replacing it with a future industry.

Yes. Although Thatcher didn't target the coal industry because it was dirty and dangerous, the oh so dynamic lefties who vilify the banks seem to ignore the fact that it would have died decades before shipbuilding or steel.

I had never heard of Graphene. Having a read up on it the market is still very small.

Not to say we shouldn't invest in it but I would imagine the benefits won't be seen for many years yet. maybe electric cars might increase it's use

As a dyed in the wool Tory (well right wing),it pains me to say that some form of nationalisation seems a good idea.
Maybe not in so many words, but we have got HS2 going on aswekl as many more rail projects, maybe offer some sort of incentive to only buy British steel.....I'm no economist but there must be a way.

The EU don't allow that, and it wouldn't be economically viable.

It's a private company and it's not required.

Putting any money in to it will just be a waste.

Why the Labour MP for Port Talbot feels the need to be in India to attend union discussions I don't know either.
