I found it quite offensive that the O.P wouldn't send his child to a nursery if a bloke worked there. But you are right on your point.

Hello Casual and other contributors, I feel that you will benefit from being swayed - and perhaps wish to be swayed. I was thinking of saying that for a bloke with three children there are usually five worlds - each child (you have given us details of each of them) plus Mum and Dad. You have told us that you have received positive (for joining Cubs)from your mum and one of your sisters. You do not mention having a wife or female partner - so we are down to four worlds. I achieved Cub Pack Leader status - after going through the movement at age 21 - and can confirm Nick's comment that going on camp is a challenge. I see that like any of us you have a natural fear of stereotype groups that we all need. You are comfortable with being a Palace Supporter and appreciate that your children will have contact with many varieties of people as they grow up. Going back to the four worlds I mentioned - your children go to bed and you stay up for a time preparing for next days (whether work or how you can help your children. It is the same at camp - everyone segregated for sleeping - boys, girls, male leaders, female leaders. Perhaps I may have swayed you into becoming a Leader (other Leaders may be able to help you as you develop your children). I must warn you that you are likely to find Scout Leader training (which now thankfully includes Safeguarding instruction) quite heavy. are you up for the challenge? Best wishes. John

Casual, may I suggest reading an Enid Blyton novel to allay your fears?

What has that got to do with the price of fish? Yes just as I thought, you won't answer. Okay, you live in Rotherham, you have a 13 year old daughter, 2 after school clubs, one run by 3 middle eastern Muslim males the other ran by 3 British women. What club would you choose ? I would be very, very, careful regarding any clubs. Six guilty people four male, two female.
