Saunders has no chance. He'll do ok in the north but with get wiped out in the south. Trump might make it but if he does that'll virtually hand it to Hilary, who I actually think will do ok as President.

Neither Saunders or Trump will make the election, if they do, it'll be a strange situation, but I think Saunders will go over better with liberal republicans, better than Trump will with Conservative Democrats.

The fact that someone as anti-gay rights; anti-choice, anti-social safety net and pro-business as Kasich can look like the moderate choice on the right, tells you all you need to know about the other candidates. The rest are competing to be God's vessel to bring about the end of days. Clinton lacks the authenticity and liberal bona fides of Sanders, which is why she's slipping backwards. Same as last time around (against Obama): the more the Democratic base see of her, the less they like her. She's also one "just discovered" email away from implosion as the national candidate. Sanders has a very populist message, but his agenda is going to scare the crap out of a lot of people.

I wonder how low turnout would be for Trump vs Sanders? Both have a core of support from solid nutjobs on left and right, but Trump is too racist for the moderate right/centre, and Sanders too socialist for the moderate left/centre. Would people stay away, or vote on a 'who I hate/fear more' basis?

* Cruz is actually an establishment insider, but his supporters don't really care because they're stupid.

To imagine any of the candidates, on either side, becoming president is weird. I reckon Hillary will probably win as it stands currently. Mainly because of her surname.
Optimistic as ever |
