Think we are starting to see the beginning of the end of the EU, given France's shock (and their rightful reaction), ironic really as they are(were ) one of the main Drivers.

This wasn't meant to be another Corbyn bash thread, more aimed at the current incumbent government, things ARE gonna get $HIT, the current administration and others before have sleepwalked into this trap and it will take a major atrocity on our doorstep for them to wake up.

Police cuts= ABSURD

Not arming police = ABSURD

Lame ass border protection & immigration policy = ABSURD

Pandering to EU directives and human rights = ABSURD

Those Isis MUTHERFOCKAS forfeit their human rights when they perpetrate the $hit they do. FLUCK EM!

It may seem a bit hard, what the French are doing and certainly a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted, but at least they have woken up now and realise the gravity of the situation.

Our government need to do the same, RIGHT NOW!

BUT

If Jeremy Corbyn was in charge- it would turn into the holiest of clusterflucks and things would be much, much worse.

The human rights act is suspended in matters of terrorism. Of course you do actually still have to prove people to be terrorists for that to apply to them, in some kind of reasonable manner.

The gravity of the situation, not that much, certainly not an existential threat to the country. The attacks in France, whilst horrific, are unfortunately an unavoidable consequence of the war on terror, and the allied campaign of bombing IS, even if its the right thing to do, they were always going to want to hit back.

I don't see how surrendering legal rights and the provisions of English law that have existed since magna carta would be in anyway proportional. The UK has very stringent anti-terrorist legislation and powers anyhow. It would be ironic if we were to actually do more damage to the British way of life responding to a threat that didn't in anyway bear on the British freedoms and way of life.

Let's get it straight, this is a man desperately, pathetically clinging on to power. His approval ratings are so low even Corbyn's laughing at them, and he's just spotted an opportunity, as he did with the climate summit later this month, to try and gain enough public support to bump him back in to office in the elections next year. Awful man.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

New laws and powers that go against their European and International commitments, no reduction in numbers of police and military - in fact an increase of numbers with the money, tools(including arms) and training that they need.

Good on ya!

Crush those Mofo's!

Mrs May take note... Although there would need to be an atrocity in the heart of Westminster before they REALLY sat up an took note.

Could be worse Jezza could be in charge

Corbyn is already in Westminster, that's an attrocity too much already

It's kinda funny really. Hollande became President on the back of a fairly left of centre manifesto, yet it looks like he's going to leave office as one of France's most authoritarian, right wing leaders since Napoleon.

Alternative: He's another socialist who had nice fluffy ideas then realised they were unworkable when he came into power.

I'd argue that it lends credenece towards the EU given that his act of terrorism, was planned in Brussels, and executed in France, by people who had travelled to Syria and back.

Its been a long problem of Europe that it doesn't really have a police body capable of cross country operation other than Interpol and its intelligence services operate on a 'friendly' rather than joined up manner.

The EU presents the best option available for 'linking up Border Controls, Records, Intelligence, Investigation and Enforcement' against Terrorism, rather than more separation between memberstates.

It might undermine some issues of the EU, definitely - but then European border controls have always been notoriously lax anyhow. The UK always had the advantage of being an island, which makes Border control much much easier.

Give it a few years and it'll be cool to be right wing.

I have anticipated this development by establishing a 'Funt Youth' movement.

Would be - given the desire, will and resources !
