I'm not sure how a return to policies that don't work and have never worked is a good thing but the young and gullible will suck on it for a while.

Well perhaps the 'young and gullible' will look at the financial disaster caused by the banks and wonder if those policies worked. They might also suck on how they cannot afford housing, a university education and having to work on zero hours contracts. At the same time they might ponder how mass immigration makes housing even more expensive, drives down wages, increases competition for jobs and causes communal tension. (Admittedly, Corbyn will do nothing about the immigration issue, unless he comes out against the EU that is.)

Are you telling me that you would vote for Corbyn's 1970's socialist circus ? He will be lucky to make it to the next election.
You know that I agree with you on immigration issues but voting for a deluded political dinosaur is not the answer.

Well they formed the welfare state after capitalism failed and we were exhausted after war. A lot of the values behind the policies are still around.

You can't seriously believe the neo-liberal policies are really working and the economy is doing well.

Massive consumer debt after a world crisis based on bad debt and interest rates unsustainable low; the economy going low wage, research and development budgets on floor as shareholder demand quick win cash; housing policy in a complete mess with the state having to subsidize rocket high rents as the rent to buy market is the best way of making money because of low interest that dare not rise. The slowest recovery in history and the (right wing) government having to legislate a slow wage increase because private companies are too greedy to offer a fair days pay for a fair days work.

The Daily Mail, the Telegraph (The Sun doesn't count as its for really stupid people) might big up the economic situation up but they are so bias as to be nothing more than the advertising agency for the Tory Party. Frankly I'd trust Chemie Grünenthal to sell my wife something to ease morning sickness more than I'd trust those liars to tell me how the economy was going.

I think the young arn't as gullible as the old are short sighted to be honest.

The story of that 'mattress under the staircase for £500 a month' being advertised as part of a house share in Clapham is a good indicator of how financially immorally retarded and fvcked up certain parts of this country has become.

The idea of someone coming in and ntroducing rent controls again would be very attractive to a lot of voters.

I think you will find that the welfare State began with Asquith and his Liberal government. The National Health Service was paid for with money borrowed from the Americans.

So much for socailism,

I would vote for practically anyone who could get us out of the EU.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

So whose money are the Tories spending?
As an aside, I see that Roman Abramovitch is getting 45 million from the government to help his steel industry... That'll please those in Redcar

It's a left wing opinion piece - you might as well ask if you've read the BNP literature when talking about immigration
