Firstly, don't worry about it.

I am 51 and I have had to fight in no wars, I have always had a roof over my head and had enough to eat. For me, the world so far has been good, but all things are relative.

Is the world getting measurably worse ?

Depends on who and where you are and what you value I suppose.

I seriously doubt that the World is worse than it has been in the past for the majority in any measurable sense.

I think its getting better but in todays social media/tele comms society we just hear a lot more bad things much sooner than via traditional methods.

Pretty much agree. A lot more of the world is living in comparative luxury compared to say 60 years ago.

However that means now that all some people have to worry about is the semi-finalist on X Factor has a cousin who once stole a packet of wine gums from the local Spar shop.

I sometimes read a news item that then links to the Daily Mail website and realise there are whole swathes of people who are obsessed with the celebrity culture, or spend their entire lives on Facebook or spend £1000 on a kitchen tap because it's the same one Kim Kardashian has.

And then I start to think maybe society has gone as far as it can. Instead of worrying about surviving or putting a meal on the table people are buying clothes they'll hardly ever wear and food they'll probably throw away. We've lost our purpose and seem to be filling our lives with crap because everything is so easily available. *

*Except for me - I have a deep and meaningful life full of football and internet p***.

I thought your view of the World was that the Pyramids, the Apollo space programme, the Hoover Dam, the Great Wall of China and invention of antibiotics pale into insignificance compared to the provision of amateur MILF gonzo p*** on xHamster?

That's true to a certain extent old chap - amateur MILF gonzo p*** on xHamster has so damaged my eyesight that I'd barely be able to see the Great Wall of China.

Although I'll admit antibiotics have got me out of a squeeze on more than one occasion.

The last 100 years has seen this world spiral out of control. The first WW was a war to end all wars!
Man has a habit of forgetting tragedies and it's just as well if they don't learn from them!

The world is f*cked. My advice is take up any religion that believes in re-incarnation, take a break in the otherworld for a few thousand years, let the powers that be use the nukes and come back to a new paradise.
