The school, in his case, as they failed to provide the same information as they did to the other pupils, which leaves them negligent / culpable.

It's definitely a sad indictment of modern society that no-one bats an eyelid over the child being morbidly obese but the kid gets a bit of sunstroke and the school are hung out dry in the national press

Funnily enough exactly the same thing happened to me when I was 15 on a school trip to Florida. Went to a water park and got so badly burnt on my shoulders that each of them turned into a giant blister and have been covered in freckles ever since. Do you know who I blame? Myself. If you're virtually old enough to vote, you should have the common sense to realise that you need suncream when it's hot.

So she doesn't care enough about him to feed him properly or pack suncream when he's going to Spain in July (presumably cos she's too stupid to work out it'd be a good idea on her own. She has to be told) but give her a sniff of a damages claim and she's all over it. I see.

There is sun lotions for children plus they have on them about protection so any parent that gives a child a 15 and thinks this is fine is a complete fool. You can tell by looking at the fat and tits on the kid that it's another one of those everybody else fault family come on who the hell gives a child even in this country a 15 for protection. The other thing I found strange was if it was myself that only had a 15 i would ask to borrow some of the others or even teachers I can't see them all saying no this this strikes me as kids with attitude thinking they are untouchable. If this was a story about heat stroke then it would be a different matter. I agree with what stirlingsays he has got it spot on and parents now days are so annoying never had this when I was younger even a few weeks ago my dad said to me when he goes on holiday he see idiots do this same thing either use too low number or they don't keep applying it as it advises. Spot on mate. I was in Camden last Friday with the missus for the day. As soon as we got out of Mornington Crescent we could tell that we were going to get burnt quickly so spent £17 on a bottle of Factor 50 that we knew we'd only use for one day. Some people are f*cking idiots.

25 is usually enough for me but on any school trips I pack a bottle of 50 because parents can be dumb enough to pack the kids off with nothing. In fact I've just bought pe kits in 3 different sizes because I got fed up last year of kids missing PE by deliberately 'forgetting' their PE kits. Parents are maddening though and it shouldn't be my responsibility to stump up for kids who's parents forget. I do though because it's not fair on the kids themselves.

I blame both. The boy was told to put cream on but didn't.
