..bit harsh the wording, she had no intention of hitting the man and is going to suffer with it for the rest of her life and as 721 said we have all at some stage done it, or something similar. Having only one eye would have very little to do with this incident, as mentally you pay more attention to avoid being in the situation she now finds herself!

.......has our coach driver done a Poo'yet, without thinking about Gus!

I didn't mention there was any intent.

I've got something in my eye while driving before, loads of times when on a motorbike, and the lack of a second functioning eye would mean you're literally driving blind until you can stop.

The requirement to legally drive in the UK is 20/20 vision in one eye, with or without the aid of glasses/contact lenses. You are, however, restricted on vehicle class you can drive (buses, hgv's).

The 'one eye' is not the issue here, it is the careless driving.

It's still a huge mitigating factor. Field of view is reduced, as is colour recognition and spacial awareness.

On top of that you're 7 times more likely to have an incident while driving.

And you get that information from where?

My father was born blind in one eye. Never had a fault accident in over 50 years of driving.

Seems a bit unfair, stating anyone with impaired vison is a danger. As a retired driving instructor have seen loads of so called able bodied drivers who desereved to be called dangerous

Are you actually taking the piss fella ?

I have had mostly one eye vision for all of my life. One eye being massively stronger than the other

I won a couple of pool competitions in my youth, boxed, did a little work as a bouncer and I've been quite successful at driving as well.....touch wood.

One good eye is sufficient to drive.....Not ideal, but sufficient.

It kept me out of the Army as a teenager....Which is a load of outdated thinking.

I heard that a taxi driver with one eye was given a taxi License, seems common practice.

I had no idea this doubled up as a Palace/Pirate messageboard.

That's probably an inappropriate smiley too!

As usual you talk like an idiot.
Driving with one eye is legal and equality has always existed.

As for the Army, the answer is no.

Equality in that you think that being excluded from something is 'outdated thinking' when it relates to yourself but hold the opposite view for others. If your eye was fine you'd no doubt be banging on about how letting the one eyed in the army was a sign of a '
creeping 'there there dear' feminisation of society.

Don't you read.

I said I'm not looking for equality in terms of the Army. I just think they have the calibration slightly off. I'm fine with their rules...I don't believe they are against anyone, it's just a judgement call.

So as usual you talk without knowing jacks*** about what you talk about.

I could have joined the territorial army if I had wished.

As for being against equality......Errr....what examples of that do you have? What appositive view for others do I have?
