I see Duetsche Bank have threatened move to Germany if we do decide to leave the EU on the back of HSBC mulling over the same thing for different reasons.

Whose next? Citigroup? JP Morgan? Morgan Stanley. A lot of these banks base their EMEA HQ's in London. How many will upsticks if we leave the EU?

Wonder if it has any effect on Boris' little Chinatown development over at Royal Albert Dock.

Interesting times ahead.

The 'Usual Suspects' seem quiet on this forum.... like the wind has been taken out of their sails?

At least Cameron didn't opt for a high 5 celebration love in with his supporters and "Things can only get better" belting out, then a party at No. 10 with One Direction, McBusted and Olly Murs.

Guess we have to be careful what we say these days, since we don't have the Lib Dems about to veto any snooping laws.

Yeah... the good old LibDems.... interfering hypocrites who's actions led to wannabe terrorists having an easier time to become indoctrinated by extremist websites and hate fuelled Imams.

Yeah cos it would never have happened under a tory majority 5 yrs ago would it? neither the noncing cons of the 80's ...... ohh hang on.

Duetsche Bank are still in Germany, they're not moving the whole company from here to there. German company in "don't leave us to prop this up" shocker.

HSBC are talking bollocks too:
Prior to the banking crisis, HSBC undertook a review of its domicile every three years, but has not done so since 2010 because of the shifting regulatory landscape.

you've conveniently ignored 1997-2010 when Blair/Brown gave an open invite to all and sundry to come and live here whilst simultaneously p1ssing them off by waging war on their countries on the back of the WMD fairy tale.

You don't boil frogs alive by throwing them into a pot of boiling water as they'll just jump out. You throw them in a pot of cold water and put it on the stove letting it heat up slowly.

It's the same people laughing at the AV vote failing that will be crying foul when the powers that be go full throttle to keep us in the EU. Not a chance in hell of us leaving regardless of what anyone thinks. People are in for a wake up call.

At least we are going to have a chance of getting out. Labour and the Lib Dems would have simply led us further into the entrails of the EU beast.

It remains to be seen. The referendum on AV was essentially a rigged election (because no one actually had said that they wanted AV ever - The demand was for proportional representation). They went with the AV because they knew PR would actually get a yes (of course the Lib Dems failed to do 'their duty' on their manifesto and force an election over the issue).

Still, when it comes to the EU, I think enough of the Tory party are anti-EU that going down a similar route might not be possible. Already though its looking shakey on the Human Rights act, as some more liberal conservatives have highlighted concerns with its capacity to be classed as rights.

It will certainly be very interesting to see how the various factions of the Conservative party play this.

I'm always surprised that most anti EU people don't know the first thing about the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. That amounts to a secretive corporate coup. A case of 'if it's not on the 10oclock news it hasn't happened'?

--
'EU moves to regulate hormone-damaging chemicals linked to cancer and male infertility were shelved following pressure from US trade officials over the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) free trade deal, newly released documents show.

Draft EU criteria could have banned 31 pesticides containing endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs). But these were dumped amid fears of a trade backlash stoked by an aggressive US lobby push, access to information documents obtained by Pesticides Action Network (PAN) Europe show.'
