I personally have no issue with the building being used as a mosque. It's better than it being empty for years imo. Why are you against it?

Because it will end up like west ham, once on is put in many more are, then the shops around them start changing to suit their needs opposed to everyone. Thats just a personal opinion. I would rather it was put to better use, perhaps a health centre. Although that's never going to happen

Look at jimmyc & Sash's replies to see why you're so very wrong in your assumptions.

Huge community fundraisers and unlike some religious denominations like, ooooh lets say the Roman Catholic Church, actually disperse the money they raise (which is huge btw) right across the communities they are in from things as diverse as rural agricultural centres in leafy Surrey (where they have some property) and hold their festivals, to Great Ormond Street Hospital to Water Aid to local disability and mental health charities and health and poverty projects in Africa and South America etc etc etc

I don't do religion and don't get the religious at all but a nicer and more welcoming bunch you couldn't wish to meet.

You should do some research on the group before you make judgements like that, Ahmadiyya are a progressive group that have a history of doing positive things for their communities. Here is a link to there website if you want to take a look.

Its more of an observation, in comparison to another part of London. Who is judging the group? I am not. I did not say anything about their religion or my opinion of it for that matter.

However what I did state is surroundings tend to change after a mosque occurs. It is east to point out the positive aspect of a religion as much as it is for me to point out those who want to make sharia law enforced for specific areas.

i would rather it was not turnt into any specific religious sanction.

RIP staffie

They sound very positive. I'm not religious either, but the choice between an empty building at risk of vandalism and dilapidation and an organisation which does what you say would appear to the non-Islamophobe to be a no-brainer.
