I got this and thought I'd been hacked. Opened link and changed password. But don't use apple anymore so the only card on there is an expired one. I'm covered right?

I also had this. Told me I'd downloaded a make up app in Brazil!

I just checked my purchased apps in the App Store and thankfully nothing on there. So it's just a scam email, nothing to do with your Apple account.

I don't use itunes but if this was a scam email, is it possible that you input your username and password on a phishing site instead of the real apple website?

Thanks for posting. I got it also and thought my apple account had been hacked. I had already opened it. I've changed my Apple ID do you know if my details could have been scammed?

no mate, the idea was that the scammers just sent the message to thousands of emails, even those not registered to an apple ID. I clicked the link and was ask to confirm the details of my card linked to my account, so if you did that, then you'll need to sort it quicksmart. if u didnt, you'll be fine.

Cheers for the reply. I only opened the email so I should be ok. Thanks.

I had one of these yesterday too saying "Your Apple ID was just used to purchase Summer Games £8.49- Your Ref# xxxxxxxx

It appears genuine but if you hover over (DO NOT CLICK ON) just hover over the parts where it says 'Write a Review' or 'Report a Problem' you'll see that the link wont be an official Apple link but it'll be a SPAM e-mail. My one said 'learnaboutonlinemarketing.com'.

Exactly the same message I got using my Ashford Eagle apple ID - kind of reassuring to see I am not alone! Perhaps it was an attack on Palace fans?!

Looks like this one is really doing the rounds, I received it on my HOL email address, but as I don't have an Apple account I knew it was a scam and deleted it immediately.

I received the email saying my "account" had been used in Brazil and had a Brazillian web addy..

I never click on any email from anyone unless I am 100pct sure of the originator.

This is a scam - DO NOT CLICK ON IT.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Hoof Hearted 18 Feb 15 11.11am

My spam folder has been inundated with scams/phishing lately.

Yes I've had the iTunes one, Nigerian inheritances, job offers etc.

Just delete and move on.

I get just as many chancers on my landline telephone, mostly from India.... especially the "Windows Technical Dept".
