Anyway back to football,I thought we played really well tonight and think without the ridiculous sending off would have gone on to win the game.I think we looked better at the back with Joel as his extra height in the box helped at set pieces and he nearly got his head in to block that wonder goal from Haller.

That is stupidly annoying, I also thought that the West Ham players really struggled to get a hold of Benteke and knowing that the ridiculous ref had already booked him for simply jumping all they had to do was get into a position behind him jump and lean in and away he goes off the pitch, I bet they couldn't believe their luck when he actually waved the red, thought the ref was poor throughout.

Very nearly goal of the season involving Townsends lovely run and Benteke's back heel, we totally controlled that first half and I just knew we would have to score two to win it, shame Eze had to go off and I don't like Snodgrass

At least we got a point. Trying to drag a positive out of Benteke's unjust red card, he'll be rested when he comes back after 3 matches, and it will give Ayew and Bats a chance to shine

Ref was a total c***. First, he looks like Sacha Baron Cohen. Second, there were no dirty or even hard fouls in the game, and yet he insisted on trying to call fouls and give yellows for "infractions" that not even West Ham was complaining about.

Both of Benteke's yellows, the opponent didn't react angrily, or complain at all. I think they were honestly shocked that they were yellows.

Aside from that, I thought it was one of the best games we've played all season. For the first time ever, we bossed West Ham in the first half, had more possession, controlled the ball better, passed better, and generated more chances.

They got a fluke goal, then the ref ruined the game by sending Benteke off.

I'm happy enough with a draw given the circumstances. If we play like that from now on, we will easily be safe.

Just had a look at a WHam forum - they’re surprisingly complimentary overall and thought Benteke was harshly treated. They’re also not impressed with Benrhama, so far Eze looks much the better buy.

This ref is getting a bit of a reputation. If he’s not then he should be.

I think its only a 1 match ban when its a red from 2 yellows. The 3 match ban is only for a straight red

We played well and the game should have been over by half time really.
I am so pleased that the old Benteke is coming back to form but he should have had a hat trick after 45 mins.
hopefully as his confidence improves so will his goal scoring ability.
The referee was abysmal - they didn't get one yellow whilst we got three - one of which turned red.
This is the ref involved in the Pickford/Van Dyke affair I believe from a link posted by someone earlier.
If he didn't think that foul was a sending off but thought that Benteke should go then he should be removed from his duties for good.
Well played Palace - let's hope we don't get so tired that we falter over the coming three weeks.

To jump high and head the ball without raising your arms is impossible, he wasn’t leading with a bent elbow so not sure what the yellow cards were for. That ref thought he was the dogs bollocks tonight!

The same referee that didnt think Virgil van Dyck was fouled by the Pickford, only put VVD out for the season, the same referee that Livarpool got removed from their games?? The bloke is either a corrupt cheat or totally incompetent!!Sorry Willo but this ref is Clattenberg Mk2
