Eze wasn't on the pitch long but the boy oozes class. Got to get them both in the side. We are a better team with Jeff in it Sacrifice a dm (Luka) to get Eze in the side, he's too good to bench warm. I will admit though that it's a dilemma for Roy

I think Eze could play with Wilf as the two up top, with Bats and Ayew, a decent two from four to pick.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

"Schlupp important in the system we play!" Seems most of us like "that system changed", and bringing Eze in the chosen 11 is a very good start.

To be perfectly honest Fulham are actually ahead of us because their stadium is being rebuilt and they are in this league, all this talk about them being relegated is pie at this stage of the season.

Jeff Schlupp is well liked by Roy because he is very versatile and generally reliable. He was a left back remember and can play in various positions, good at tackling and quick, with a good shot. I like him a lot, don't see this "doesn't have a football brain". I have seen evidence of that lack - at the start of the season before last - it's going back a bit - we lost our first game 0-2 to Saints - his lack of contribution was very noticeable and was picked up by the papers, and we lost at home to Wolves same season when they came up and he was awful that game on the left, moving inside when he should have ben overlapping and generally going missing or chasing the game. My view is that he is not a full back or winger, and he's only really effective as a left mid if he's played in advanced positions where his ability to burst into attacking positions and either shoot or assist is a proper threat. He is basically an inside left, Roy's big change a season or two back was to play Schlupp as inside left, McArthur as inside right with Luka as the anchor, and that's what changed our fortunes in 2018/19. Eze will similarly be an advanced left side midfielder or will do what Chamakh did for us a few seasons back under Pulis - the latter scenario is for the future so Eze and Schlupp will be competing for a place for now - not bad competition though is it - especially with Jairo making the other midfielders have to fight for their places.

Eze the same, WBA were absolutely furious with losing their best player to us, Slaven Bilic was spluttering and spitting everywhere! Edited by Tickled pink (26 Oct 2020 10.49am)
