dont understand this lack of ambition from some palace fans. Roy gets an easy pass but he is a below average manager who gets lucky every so often or rides on a herculean contribution from Zaha/Schlupp. Game has evolved beyond him. Im not a Leeds fan but look at what Bielsa is doing with an average squad there. IMHO for palace to progress, Roy who has saved us has to go. Over to you
Until we reach the Eldorado of a higher status like Chelsea, we will always be looking to average a point a game and stay up. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (04 Oct 2020 11.31am)

Over to you I don't think it is a lack of ambition from fans but the realism that Roy Hodgson is as good a manager as a club like ours could keep hold of. He also has a budget that is tiny compared to the top clubs. We are currently punching above our weight but like all fans we dream of something better.

The writing was on the wall, how we approached this game. We took ages to turn up from the dressing room, then just casually strolled out, it looked like they were getting ready in the car park, as you could see them coming from outside the stadium at the back. Chelsea were there ready to go, we just carried on the lethargic attitude throughout the game. I thought both teams were supposed to come out together, it all just seemed odd yesterday.

Perhaps I’m reading more into this as well but I also thought the body language of our team looked wrong as they walked out later than Chelsea for the start of the match and the second half start? Looked the same last season for those last 8 matches?

First off, Chelsea deserved their win... So we concede 4 goals in the last 30 minutes, I think we just switched off, Sakho has always been an accident waiting to happen, so that was the first and from then on we were chasing the game. It wasn’t great, but we have had 4 tough games so far and we have an injury list to defenders the length of your arm. We sit middle of the table and I am happy with that, we could have even had 7 points if it wasn’t for the dodgy penalty against Everton....

The whole team had a bad day with Sakho taking the p*so. My biggest concern is not having a plan B and c. Hodgson frustrates the sh*t out of me but who else could've kept us up last season? Coping with ,all those injuries on a shoestring budget?? I can't think of anyone.

our performance was poor no excuses! Just look at the fouls on the BBC live text, they basically stopped us attacking.... 5' Jordinho on Sakho, 10' Azpilicuerta on Eze, 11' Jordinho on Ayew, 23' Havertz on Zaha, 23' Azpilicueta on Eze, 37' Hudson-odoi on Eze, 47' Silva on Zaha, 61' Havertz on Eze, 64' Azpilicueta on Eze, 69' Jorginho on Milivojevic, 70' Kante on Ayew, 70' Abraham on Townsend ....by this stage of the game it was well and truly over for us, the thing to remember is we are only going to score when defences are being stretched and when freekicks are awarded to us the opposition is able to organise themselves accordingly, Chelsea just did a brilliant job on us with their professional fouling until we eventually made a mistake then go for the kill with more mistakes. Eleven fouls on our players moving through midfield who were quite obviously trying to move forwards should not just be waved away, Chelsea were always going to have more of the ball because they can just practically buy who they want to achieve that, poor old palace haven't that luxury. You just wrote it all ..because you know that Chelsea have huge tremendous pockets of lovely dosh to buy whoever they want, we were up against it somewhat with hope more then anything else that Chelsea were still not quite at the races but ............ Protesting about the long walk and wanting the same time as Chelsea in the dressing room at half time. Roy was negative before the match on TV and tactic were negative and was all about trying to keep the score down when Plan A was blown! At half time before Chelsea came out I would have had my CP team ready facing down Chelsea like All Black do.. but they came out causal and Chelsea did the business like last season!!
