You can bet your life that there will be similar challenges this weekend in the Premiership where a yellow card will not be brandished. The trouble this ref has made for himself now is enormous, he will have to study every single jump now as every single player is going to contest every single jump knowing that he likes to get his yellows out, he is a complete twat sadly. EC, dont get me wrong, but like you, i also understand what Willo is on about. Now, you will NEVER get consistency from 2 refs never mind All refs. I keep trying to educate posters, that there is a phrase in Law 12 that states "IF IN THE REFEREES OPINION" thats it. If 1 ref thinks its a foul/caution, he will give it, on the other hand, another ref might think differently & not give it. This btw, has nothing to do with 'big 6' bias, refs like players, fans, managers etc, are just human. When people can grasp that, convos will be more interesting & not meander round & round in circles like the 'Taking the knee' thread.
Did they use VAR on Benteke's incidents?

The yellow card can be rescinded IF the ref is minded to do that but unlikely.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

I don't think anyone has campaigned for referees to be consistently making the same bad decisions Willo. I am sure if the resources were available we could identify 100 similar instances this season alone where a yellow card was not produced and therefore there is no consistency. Furthermore, another litmus test for consistency will be if he continues to brandish yellow cards and resultant reds for any player who jumps with a raised arm to win headers.. which I doubt. Very well said! ^^^

Did they use VAR on Benteke's incidents? No Tickled, they didnt, because it wasnt needed as per guidelines issued. I understand what you on about, but, VAR is never going to be used for cautions. Now, if Tekkers was given a straight Red, then, Yes, VAR would be used. Trouble is, if they then agreed with the ref, Tekkers would be facing a 3 match ban instead of just 1. Anyhoo, i hope we continue our good form & not revert to type, i noticed we have 4 defenders on the bench. COYP
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Given his recent improved form II felt we would miss CB today. Sure if he had played he would have put one of our many first half chances away. Still probably 1-6 or 7 !

If the referees today want to see what leading with the elbow means they need to look at what Fashanu used to do at Wimbledon in the 90,s . He used to jump with the elbow bent into the face of an opponent, which caused fractures to the face and eye socket damage. Tekkers arm is always straight and he is not leading with it and looking to cause any damage. It didn’t help that those 2 West Ham prat’s were rolling around on the ground like their heads were hanging off...

Watching Brighton v Sheffield on Sky , I have seen two incidents where arms have gone into players faces, referee just waved on play.

It will be interesting to watch this next game also - THFC v LCFC and see how Harry Kane gets on.
