They spent more money on sacking manager than they did on defenders, relying on Marriappa, a player who struggled to hold a place in some of our weakest back lines. Watford are an example of how to be dumb with money. We were not far behind them until Roy arrived as as far as sacking managers were concerned. As for dumping money we have the tee shirt there as well. You have to look no further than Sakho and Benteke as examples and then there is the contract extensions for players who were either permanently on the sick list or just useless. Parish is no better!

Watford have gained a reputation for hiring and firing since the Pozzo family took over the club in June 12.They are now on their 12th manager since the Pozzo's arrived (Excluding caretakers). We are now on our 8th manager (Excluding caretakers) over that same period but of course some left of their own volition. Edited by Willo (22 Oct 2020 9.21am)

CPFC2010 have sacked Burley, Warnock, Pardew and De Boer. They sacked 4 in one season. Sakho and Benteke were signed in positions we needed to strengthen. Edited by jeeagles (22 Oct 2020 9.27am)

We have to ask ourselves, after 8 years in the Prem how far have we gone forward as a club? Answer apart from Cat 1 academy status, nowhere. When we return to the Championship which we inevitably will we will have exactly the same stadium as when we were promoted but a wage bill 5 times the size. Was it worth it? It seems to me the club has more chance of moving forward if we go down with a chance of more academy players making the step up. At the moment we are treading water.

Edited by jeeagles (22 Oct 2020 9.27am) Roy shipped in stability in the period before Roy's arrival we were nearly as bad as Watford, some of those Managed who walked I suspect did so because of lack of investment and input on transfers. We overpaid for Sakho and Benteke and then we extended contracts on the same players, plus Wickham when we should have let them go. The point I'm trying to make is that Parish is no better, he was responsible for bringing in the useless Americans How some people think we can attract top managers and players whilst we are in the mess, we are in, is beyond me!

The point I'm trying to make is that Parish is no better, he was responsible for bringing in the useless Americans How some people think we can attract top managers and players whilst we are in the mess, we are in, is beyond me! Someone posted an article yesterday on another threat. We have the 15th most expensively assembled squad in the league and the 15th biggest stadium. A low turnover in players coming and going has helped increase the wage budget. Some fans and managers a like would like a magic money tree to piss up the wall on every player mentioned in transfer talk. Repeating that the squad had £80m invested in the 6 months prior to Roy's arrival and the 9th biggest wage budget in the league, plus some excellent free tranfers he's not had it too badly at all. The club is operating at its optimum level and pound for pound one of the best run clubs in England. Burnely are potentially the one club outperforming us without suger daddy investors or huge resources. Our stratetgy to improve the training facilities and academy, then expand the stadium is exactly the same as theirs. The only difference is they have a much better manager. All this stuff about Parishes ego is just conjecture, and complaining about "the Americans" sounds very much like echoed rhetoric from Manchester United and Liverpool fans. All we know is the clubs is enjoying its longest run in the premier league and the finances are stable. I'm not sure what more you can ask for. A lot of Roy's supporters who blame the board are clearly basing their opinion on emotion and not fact. None of this detracts from the fact that since Christmas the manager has drastically underperformed with the players he has available to him.

Whether you like Parish or not, the fact remains, we are now in our 8th season in the Premier. You can’t mismanage a club and remain in the most competitive league in the world. No previous Chairman has come close to achieving that. So, he must be doing something right.

I wonder where we would be if it wasn't for the happy accident of having a young Wilfried Zaha in the development squad

Each time we sold them, we were relegated soon after.
