Why would any one be surprised that people on the left can be racist. Still its nice to be surprised, because I'm rarely surprised when people on the right turn out to be racists. But the right at least maybe are more egalitarian in that they seem to be prejudice against anyone who isn't white, male and presumes themselves to be middle classed. I don't believe that you believe the second paragraph. It highlights the delusion of the left - and the perils of virtue signalling.

Labour suspend two more members on the same day Corbyn gets savaged about describing Hamas and Hezbollah as 'friends' (btw, two groups who openly welcome Jews as members): And we are led to believe that Labour doesn't have a problem with anti semitism.

Some are saying there's a witch hunt going on. From a suspended Lp member Jacqueline Walker... As many of you know I have been suspended from the Labour Party for anti-Semitic comments. I have been an active anti-racist trainer and campaigner for years, often in all white communities. I have been spat at and beaten by racists. I have marched against the fascists, defended minorities, am of Jewish decent as is my partner. If they can do this to me they can do it to anyone ... let us recall Niemoller

Really? Because from the outside it looks like a dogs breakfast of a prejudiced mess, with loads of anti Semites coming out of the woodwork on a daily basis. I wager those who say it's a witchhunt are those who are completely in denial over the scale of the problem or the fact that the left appear to be as prejudiced as any other sector of society.

Cameron seems to completely disregard the fact that PMQs is for the PM to respond to questions put to him by MPs as he made no attempt to answer many of Corbyn's questions preferring instead to keep on and on about trying to make him withdraw his comments about Hammas whether that was relevant to the question that Corbyn asked or not. I have never voted anything other than Conservative but I don't like Cameron's bullying tactics at PMQ as he is far too evasive for my liking.

Like any party I suspect there are racists and biggots of all walks. Except maybe the Misanthropes, they just hate everyone. For as long as I can remember there have been people who are racist on the left, as well as anti-racists.

From a perspective of the future of the middle east, there is definitely a case that these groups are also the 'enemy of our enemy' and the current situation with ISIS does offer a chance to build a more neutral position with several of the more politically active Islamist groups. Certainly their political wings (both groups are more complex than being just one organisation). Problem is, the US and Israeli issue regarding both these groups. But there is definitely a case of establishing 'official' contact with these two groups - both are organisations we could probably benefit from some influence with (although I wouldn't call them friends either, they're at best potential allies of convenience). But neither is going anywhere soon, and very influential in the politics of their region.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and all that. I often wonder who actually decides what is a flower and what is a weed?

It just proves that, in many cases, the use of the term racist is self serving. In Britain it has become a stick by which the law can control opinion and dissent. Of course, some people need protecting from themselves. Those on the far right for example.
