I agree, and it was exactly in the same context of people complaining about their own country that Trump made those remarks.

Right then. With the Booreyboys gaining Workington via a strategy based solely on a patronising simpleton esque stereotype (which alarmingly must be genuine) we’ve reached peak election dross. Surprised it worked tbh but this and the referendum has told politicians not to ignore them or take them for granted, twice. Whether it’s heeded or not is anyone’s guess. It was pleasing to see that all those MPs who thought that they knew better than the people that they supposedly represented were booted out by their electorate Absolutely all of them? Have none of them hung on? Good if so. I see Sam Gyimah won a narrow victory for the conservatives in Kensington, by standing for Lib Dem’s. Good riddance to him.

Wow. I'm shellshocked. The next 5 years promise to see even greater levels of deprivation and division in our society but... That's democracy. Sadly, Labour dealt with the pain Brexit voters felt by pretending they didn't exist. Labour need to go back in to those communities now and regain trust. Yep. Twice. Or three times if you include 1016, 2017, 2019. Any more? ‘If Labour is a liberal metropolitan party we won’t vote for it.’

Yeah you’re right. I still feel like people didn’t know what they were voting for though. I have a lot or respect for you because you know why you voted for it and can articulate the reasons. A rare breed. Not sure how you can still say this. It has been 3 years since the referendum and the media/MPs have done nothing but bleat on about all the negatives regarding leaving the EU, so people are fully aware and just want out, maybe eventually this will sink in.

So presumably all the Labour heartlands in the Midlands and the North who voted for Boris are happy with this? I totally agree with your 2nd paragraph

Besides, for people like us Johnson is still pretty lukewarm on most things.....but he should be good on Brexit and free speech....at least compared to what we had before. This

As a lifelong Labour supporter I'm very happy with this election result. Labour needed to be crushed. Corbyn and his Momentum chums have been shown to be unelectable, irresponsible and racist. The sooner the lot of them stop whinging, stop making ridiculous excuses for their defeat and disappear the better. Labour needs to completely rebuild as a creditable party without Corbyn and the rest of the Crazy Gang. Loved Alan Johnson laying into that fraud John Landsman last night on ITV. I was hoping he was going to punch him.
