I'm not so sure this 'Boris back to the centre' on the EU is what is going to happen. Essentially the vast majority of those Tory MPs are going to be signed up leavers now. It's going to be a vastly different looking parliament. They are going to be cruising for a bruising with the EU for at least three years. I don't see them picking fights with Boris after he put them there. We will see. I’m certainly not sure but all things considered I don’t think it’s an unlikely scenario I certainly think people should be careful about getting too excited. In fact if they are excited I’d love to know what they are excited about.

It is, but not in this instance. The statement stands no matter what colour or creed, mainly because I didn’t say ‘Go back to your own country’ to someone that didn’t look quintessentially English, wearing a flat cap whilst eating pie and mash. Clear difference. Maybe he’s had too many Spitfires. Noted. I should imagine Hrolf is feeling quite positive. Still, I'll still be surprised if it's 80+ seats.....I think, like with Trump, some would have been embarrassed to admit that they voted Corbyn......65 maybe.

It's looking seriously bad for Labour. Absolutely f***ing delicious. If these results bear out, then it serves every single Brexit-blocking anti-democratic cretin right. Lib Dems have made ZERO impact, despite delivering kilos of election junk through my door. I am currently absolutely reveling in the misery of the die-hard Remain nutjobs on social media. Your internet echo chamber is not reality. Enjoy.

It's the two fingered job to whoever they think needs it the most. The Scottish view that as the English and the English/Welsh view that as the EU. This result is all essentially about dissatisfaction.....with Corbyn and the parliament blocking the referendum result. If Johnson had ran against Corbyn in 2017 he would have still won a majority but I think it'd have been far closer to your 20-30 seat view. There was a feeling that democracy was being ignored and that politicians were ignoring those who put them there. Edited by Stirlingsays (13 Dec 2019 12.56am)

Are you listening now?

If you can't gloat on an election night when can you gloat. Still, I know some good Labour people....which unfortunately includes my sister.....and so, you know. Besides, for people like us Johnson is still pretty lukewarm on most things.....but he should be good on Brexit and free speech....at least compared to what we had before.

It is Brexit. As simple as that. I am f***ing boring about it but just the constituency break down of the Brexit vote and the Euro's told the picture. Anybody who thought a second referendum was a good idea is the problem. Possibly the worse of all options. You said yourself that the referendum went deeper than finances, political vIews, allegiance and loyalty. It meant so much more and people weren’t going to give in, hence the Ref 2 brigade and this. So the ref 2 brigade didn’t back down and the leavers today didn’t back down, and won it again, with a lot of ‘come on and get it moving because we’re bored or want other stuff sorted.’ I do also think there was a fair bit of an opposition to socialism, or a drive to bankruptcy or rising interest rates, although many wouldn’t know how it would hit, just imagining that it would, badly, and probably quickly.

Just seen a clip of Alan Johnson ranting at the Momentum founder in the ITV studio - camera then cuts to George Osborne and Ed Balls. The look of glee on Osbournes face

Right then. With the Booreyboys gaining Workington via a strategy based solely on a patronising simpleton esque stereotype (which alarmingly must be genuine) we’ve reached peak election dross.
