There's that but also in the first half, there were chants relating to "rent" towards our Chelsea loanee and during the second half towards T. Mitchell's side you could hear multiple times some lone fan chanting "f-ing deck him!"

Also the commentators probably hear a lot more, but what gets up on the mic and broadcasted and what doesn't is probably unknown to them

Bugs me the way they keep apologising, it’s a football match FFS, what do they expect? especially at Millwall

As I was saying at Half Time.. give Mateta the service and scores... say no more......

TBF I think even Benteke might’ve scored that header.

It would’ve been a horrendous miss had he not scored.

This was a poor performance overall by Palace and if it wasn’t for Olise I doubt we would have won.. The team looks under prepared every game to me. We are far too slow to move the ball forward in the the early part of the game and this gave Millwall the early initiative and led to their goal. The coaching staff do not have any premier league experience and this is beginning to show. Riedewald should have come on in place of Schlupp after the second goal.

Yeah we made hard work of that. Millwall are 11 thugs with very little quality. 1st was absolutely awful. No movement, no aggression and miles off it. Obviously had a bollocking at HT and we looked better. The subs were crap and stopped our momentum.

A central midfielder with engine and physical dominance is much needed this month. Schlupp is f***ing useless. Hughes can’t is an 8 not a 6. Gallagher was very rusty but still the only one pressing and tackling.

We were pretty poor but for 20 minutes where the difference in class showed. Millwall players gave it a good go given their limitations but their fans showed they still are the biggest bunch of idiots in football booing the knee, throwing bottles at players and calling the opposing manager a c**t.

Eze got some minutes but he needs to be in the middle to get the best out of him. Olise stepped up second half but otherwise no one really stood out for the right reasons, although our midfield did put a shift in. We'll need to be a lot better at the Amex. The most relieved man in football tonight will be Butland.

We move on

Olise is just a young kid, looks a bit shy and I don't care if he never smiles on the pitch. Let his feet do the talking and they are high-profile personalities. Get Eze going and we are sorted.....

Southgate should get on the phone to Olise asap. Kid's obviously going places but hasn't been capped for France since 2019 at U18 level. If Gareth doesn't move he can easily accept a callup from France, Algeria or Nigeria.

Exactly! Whatever next…overdubbed wildlife noise (a la Big Brother) whenever the crowd are singing a rude song. More of the total pathetic wokeness heading our way I’m afraid

I am beginning to come round to thinking that Mateta is a better player than Benteke. Full of running, gets into position and can finish.

Whereas Benteke is only good if he gets decent crosses and corners.
If we can off-load him and get Ntekia then would be good case for buying Mateta. Beginning to show what he can do after almost complete neglect by Hodgson.

As for the game, not happy with big holes in our midfield causing a lot of panicky clearances and suicide passes. Don't seem to be playing 4-3-3 anymore.

Yes but Benteke is renowned for horrendous misses, so I'm glad it fell to Mateta.

Now i can enjoy the rest of my w/e. Hard fought win, game of two halves etc. Think Olise has been taking lessons off Ayew, always looks miserable & his interview was, how we say, Ian Wright-esque

Here's the match report from the clubs website . . . [Link]

Enjoy your w/e HOLer's

Yep, thanks eagleman will do.

I agree with what you say about Olise's post match interview. He needs lessons from Gallagher who always looks and sounds delighted when he's interviewed after a win. Still, being miserable doesn't stop him being MOTM.

Pleased it's not my ears BTW.

Finally, why are Emirates trying to look like they have owned the FA Cup for 150 years?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Typical cup tie it's never easy at the Den.

Millwall offered very little apart from 2 crosses in the second half that eluded everyone and a couple of tame shots.

As for Palace not a great performance but job done. CG and Eze looked off the pace as for Butland schoolboy error.

The commentator at full time said Millwall deserved their first half lead, no they didn't we gifted them a goal but other than that they did nothing.

The weather is awful so that didn't help either.

well done Olise.
