I just don't see a major clear out - too risky and too expensive. 2 or 3 new younger players in the key areas of need, a couple of loans and perhaps one of our own youngsters promoted to the first team squad. There is, of course, the question of which players choose not to renew if offered. PvA is the only one that seems to be on his way out. Time, of course, will tell. Edited by doombear (24 Feb 2021 2.37pm) Whether it happens or not is in doubt, but it’s got to be a big risk involved in renewing some of the ageing players contracts.

This is true but you’d think with the improvements in diet and training, not to mention the incentive of increased earnings, that players could go on longer than they used to. Obviously depending on their ability to do so rather than just desire.

Yes, that’s also true. Particularly for full backs now they’re also often an attacking option as well. Personally I don’t have a problem with an older centre back provided he can organise the defence properly.

So, sorry to get this thread back on track, IS Eddie Howe still favourite, or is going to across the border?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I read somewhere that the relegation at Bournemouth had really hit him hard and that he needed a total break from football to process things and recharge. I think we might be missing a trick if we focus too much on the fact that he took them down without considering He seems to be a real student of the game and very analytical so it is reasonable to expect after a period of reflection he will have learned a lot from that experience. Let’s face it keeping them up for as long as he did was no mean feat. I think the likes of Eze would thrive under him - we certainly wouldn’t see Him camped on the edge of our our own bloody box for 85 minutes!
