Second half was embarrassing and along with Chelsea our worst performance of the season.

However, I'm not going to have a knee-jerk reaction. Let's face it, we don't have a single player who would get into Citeh's first XI and it's debatable whether any of ours would even get on the Citeh bench!

The next 7 games will define how our season will go, not tonight, so I'll reserve judgment until after the Fulham game.

At least we now have a 9 day break before we face the Spammers.

I think I'll go to bed and read.

£810 million vs £150 million - what on earth does everyone expect? OK a bit more fight and urgency would be nice but when you try and race your Kia Sportage against a Jaguar XJ and lose you can't blame your Sportage for not being up to the job it was purchased for.

Why worry about TODAY when TOMORROW will be even worse.

Why keep passing back to keeper which lead to free kick which 4-0.

So how good was actually City?
Cut out 4 mistakes and no goals
Did City create goals no.. they seized of mistakes.

Did Palace try to win a point.... maybe
Can we cut out the mistakes, no not against top teams.
Did we learn anything about Roy and his tactics... SFA

I agree with this. There is no denying Roy’s tactics where unbelievably negative but school boy mistakes cost us which can’t be blamed on Roy. He sent the team out to hopefully nick a point in the last 10 minutes but we gave ourselves no chance.

I am not defending Roy by the way but we have beaten city before by playing those negative tactics,

I am beginning to think the same myself. I know some of his saves have been world class this season but his ball distribution and lack of presence at corners is costing us big time. It will be interesting to see if Roy gives Butland a run.

I reckon Gordon Banks would struggle to play well behind that lot tonight. Let’s face it, if we really think the problem with this team is the Keeper then there’s no hope for the fans either.

Show me where I said field some youth players against City..!!

I know plenty about football thanks, quite obvious you don’t..!!

I’m not saying he’s the problem but he’s part of it. He is one of basically every player we have who can’t pass a ball 10 yards,

Hodgson must have been terrified of a Liverpool repeat.
The grand irony is he sets up to keep the score down but ends up being thrashed anyway. Once we go one down against the likes of Man City and the manner in which we are set up it becomes just a matter of how many; there's no plan b.

I look forward to Hodgson leaving at the end of the season. The club needs a change, some fresh impetus.

We were never going to take anything from that game. Zaha may have had a knock but he was clearly giving Benteke a rest ahead of the next 2 games. We move on to more important games.

Roy has fulfilled the brief given to him and will do again this season. If we spend anything rebuilding in January then Parish is clearly thinking of going with Roy next season. Personally I’d like to see Roy retire at the end of the season. All teams need a fresh approach with a new coach every few years and it’s probably time for us to do that ..... just make sure it’s not another FDB!

This was the frustrating thing that every goal was the result of a mistake. However the gulf in quality was so large that had those goals not gone in I've no doubt City would have found them somewhere else.

Other than the goal difference taking a beating I'm not too fussed about losing to City as this isn't where our season is decided. However the next 7 games I expect us to be putting in some markedly better performances which will have a huge say in how our season pans out.

Next 7 games: West Ham, Wolves, Newcastle, Leeds, Burnley,Brighton and Fulham.

Tonight was embarrassing but some will conclude that they expected a comprehensive defeat against a top-class team.
We lose the next game, home to W.Ham and the 'Alarm bells' will ring even louder.
