It’s performances like this which is why we are so so so far off being a top side. Burnley were awful today and had a huge slice of luck for their goal and we couldn’t reply. Pathetic really. Burley were there for the taking tonight and we failed. Awful performances all round. Batshuayi is so lazy, seems disinterest and I’m so so bored of him missing chances (or indeed when he does manage to get the ball in the net, being offside). Benteke is done. Two F**KING HUGE chances to rescue a point and failed again. We lacked any urgency and should be ashamed of ourselves.

We had 96 minutes to get something out of this game and failed miserably. No quality up front and always trying to walk the ball in.

One dimensional - we go behind and there's usually no way back. Batshuyi doesn't impress and shouldn't be starting.

Ironically, we finished the game with two of Belgium's top strikers, still, they looked awful!

We should not still be starting a 33 year old James mccarthur as much as I like him he has no energy any more.

There's a paradox with Benteke.
His touch looks poor and he appears lethargic.
However, we often look more dangerous when he is on the field because he occupies defenders and has a physical presence.
Our game doesn't suit Batshuayi, and Ayew is limited despite his sterling efforts last season.
We probably deserved a draw, but it was a patchy performance with lots of sloppy passing

IMO we deserved nothing. Burnley did a Palace. Townsend absolutely awful, perhaps his media career is more important. Zee the only one who deserves credit.
If Cahill fit for bench why not play him instead of Kouyate who has played 2 Afcon games

Typical Palace to give Burnley their first win of the season [

Whenever any team is on a bad run or can't score, they look at the fixture list to see when they've got Palace so they know when it'll end.

aint it true Martin.
worse thing is when idjits actually expect us to trounce a team on bad form.
they clearly dont know Palace.
we are one frustrating bunch of C

Back to the rubbish Palace ..when we are good we are good....when we are poor we are utter s***.

A terrible display against a very poor Burnley team.

Bendonkey should not even be on the bench...a waste of petrol taking him to a game.

In some ways I'd amend that statement to, when we are good we are okay. We rarely ever take control of a game and dominate possession for any period of time. Our victories often flatter us somewhat.

In our last two wins against Leeds and Fulham the opposition actually played the better football. I'm not intending to be negative but the reality is that if we want to be more consistent and maintain a top half of the table position we have to better at managing games, keeping on the ball and making the opposition work hard to regain it. As it is, and has been for ages, our passing is sub-standard and until we can improve on that we are always going to struggle to impose ourselves on games.

WBA wishing they could play us this Friday - rather than Saturday week!

Tonight was a classic example of how we've been playing for the past 2-3 years. Slow, unable to pass, unable to handle pressure on the ball when we have it.

We try to hang around for 90 minutes and hope for a lucky goal from Zaha. Painful to watch. And now our clean sheets have disappeared this year.

I feel like we always in danger of going on a long losing streak, like the 7 in a row at the end of last year.

The centre backs looked shaky from the start. We need to change Kouyate, who is playing out of position and Scott Dann looks poor and out of his depth. Burnley were so much better playing out of defence and looking for an attacking pass but our centre backs either passed it back or played a square pass. But we were poor through out the team and it showed how dependent we are on Wilf.

If "Benteke" is the answer, then the question is: "Who in the PL is least likely to score?"
