We have so many players in our squad who can’t even play football
.
Our back 4 basically picks itself at the moment and we have no cover for our full backs.(and now ward is injured)

We have 3 strikers at the club, 2 are finished as professional players and 1 is not a goal scorer but works hard.

PVA - desperate player
Schlupp - should not be near a football pitch he is s***e.
Townsend - works hard but his over all game is very poor.
Zaha - has his moments but unfortunately has had none this year.
Luka - good peno taker but is miles of form.
Kouyate - runs around a lot but couldn’t pick a pass in a month of Sunday’s.
Jimmy Mac - has been one of our better players this season but has a lot of off days.

I am done with this. We don’t even try until we go a goal down. Not wasting any more money following Palace away until old man Hodgers is put out to pasture.

Summed up my thoughts exactly.

This is the most defensive Palace team I can recall since the early days of Freedman.
Pulis has a reputation for being defensive but we played Jerome up front with Chamack in attacking midfield and Bolassie and Puncheon on the wings.
We also always looked a threat with set pieces.
Allardyce has a reputation as a defensive coach but he played a front 3 of Zaha, Benteke and Townsend with Puncheon in midfield.
We played early and direct to Benteke’s head/chest and tried to build quickly from there.
Again we were threatening with set pieces.
Roy was not overly defensive at Fulham or WBA.
There are spells at Palace where we have played bright attacking football under Roy.
However, this season we seem to have become ultra defensive and cautious and I think this is down to Roy more than the players.

Hoping to keep a clean sheet whilst dreaming of nicking a goal 'somehow' is not actually a game plan. No evidence of any actual plan to score in our last two games.

Second post in a day... Just shows how upset I feel..

I know we played Chelsea, but I paid a lot of money for the ticket and transport costs. To watch the team have one shot on goal was bordering on insulting. When we got the ball up the field..the ball then ended back with our defenders again... What's the point?!

Why not try some of our more creative midfielders... We have nothing to lose..

Then... To listen to Roy yet again say he was proud of the performance.. ggrrr..what!? The guy is passed his sell by date...

So bullet point only.
Negative
Reactive not proactive
No attacking intent
No creativity in midfield
Unable to pass to each other
Unable to pass at or with pace
Unable to mark the opposition
Ball watching - amateur!
Sucked into the ball
If it is the players fault then change them
If it is the Managers fault then change him
SP needs to look at himself very hard as well because 6 years on I prefer the Pulis team of 2014 and by now we should be a lot better than we that.
If we lose we lose but do it whilst trying to win instead of trying not to lose.
of the team that started today Cahill. Gaunita. Tompkins. Andros. Wilf, Kouayte & Luka to stay - the rest should take a hike.
If Roy said he was proud he should be ashamed of himself - sorry I didn't watch post match.
Relegation looms large in my opinion!

Thought we were dreadful today. No lack of effort, except for Zaha who looked disinterested for most of the game. I was sitting with Chelski fans and even they said they would struggle to watch that style of football, week in and week out. We never threatened, even at 1-0 down. I am realistic and accept we are just one of a number of teams making up the numbers, but I would rather we went down with a fight, rather than accepting a 2-0 defeat as a good result. Can’t believe I’m mug enough to have bought tickets for Watford and Newcastle away - hopefully we will turn up and give them both a game, rather than defend and lose. The Gary Cahill love in at the end was almost as bad as the game.

A wasted trip to the Bridge today. At least I got to see some decent football today after watching Leicester play. Oh for a young team like that.

AWB was a nice young player wasn't he, Leicester are light years ahead of us with players let alone their stadium.
We mustn't panic but stay calm and be extremely thankful that we have a manager with huge amounts of experience to keep us away from the drop zone because our squad is massively weak and without Roy to guide us we'd be as bad as Southampton, we seriously would be.

By my calculation, PVA was more involved than any of our players. He takes terrible flak on this forum, but he plays as both a defender and an attacker. Not everything comes off, but he gives 110 per cent every match. He never hides. And he’s super-quick.

And who was it that scored the winner against Man U? Hero!
